Please let me know if your info needs to be updated!
SO's Name: Kevin
Baby's/childrens name(s): Lucas & Brycen
How old is/are the LOs: 23 months and almost 1
Any new milestones or fun stories: Brycen is crawling! He has picked up so much since he started working with the physical therapist. Now they are working on him pulling up to a standing position. Lucas is so funny, he copies everything now. If someone farts, he will try and imitate the sound they made with his lips and then laugh like crazy.
Words that you find saying most often to your LO(s): Don't hit the dog/your brother/yourself/me/daddy. No, you don't need to brush your teeth, again.
Favorite part of March: Brycen's birthday, the warmer weather
What’s your favorite indoor and outdoor activity? My favorite indoor activity is either reading, or writing. Outdoors would be talking walks, just enjoying nature.
So both kids are in bed sleeping so I thought I would try and catch up with everyone. I am not promising that I will stay caught up, but I will try.
Carly- Lucas doesn't talk much either. And what he does say, nobody really understands him except me and DH.
Sandy- I am glad that David is doing so well with his new daycare. It sounds like she is really teaching him some great things.
Christine- I am sure your first overnight away from Selin will go fine. It is kinda funny that DH is more nervous about it then you are.
Erica- I can't believe that Charlotte is already 8 months old.
Sarah- How is it possible that our babies are almost 1. Someone needs to tell them to stop growing up.
Liz- Haha. Too funny about Peter and the cat food.
Toys in cribs- We never really put any toys in the cribs for either boy. Not because we were worried, I guess I never really thought about it. Lucas does have 2 pillow pets in his crib and B just has his blankies. I agree with the other ladies, when they are old enough/strong enough to move, sit up on their own I think it is fine.
Overnights- Both my boys have Slept over at their Grandparents house. My MIl has had both boys at the same time twice. Brycen was still in a bassinet the first time, so he was younger than 4 months old. I miss them like crazy when they are gone, but it is nice to have some "me" or "us" time.
Andi- That is too cute about the girls having their first fight over a toy. Lucas and Brycen don't really fight over toys, they were fighting over an apple the other day though.
AFM- I will start with Brycen. He is doing so well with his physical therapy. She comes once a week for about 45 minutes. He is really taking off now, as far as crawling goes. He stays up on his knees most of the time, and rarely is on his stomach. So now the next thing they are working on is him pulling himself into a standing position. He has been approved for Occupational Therapy and starts the week of March 19th. Once a week for an hour. When the Occupational Therapist was out at the house for the evaluation, she noticed he was having trouble eating (which is odd to think because he is quite a big boy). But everything she said made sense to me, and at his 1 year checkup at the dr we are going to get a referral to an ENT and he is going to get his frenulum clipped. He is tongue tied and that seems to be holding him back as far as moving on to try table foods, because he can't use his tongue to move the food over to the side of his mouth to chew it the right way, so more times then not he just gags on it.
Lucas is my little ball of fire. He never sits still even for a minute. He is always on the go doing something. He loves having Brycen around to play with, especially now that Brycen is becoming more active and actually playing with him. He is starting to say new words, just in the past week he has started to say thank you. He has discovered the fine art of taking his pants and diaper off while he is supposed to be napping. Yeah, that is fun.....not. I don't think he is quite ready for potty training yet though. This boy loves to brush his teeth. Every time I go to the bathroom he has to come with me and brush his teeth, and if by some chance I don't let him he throws a hit of epic proportions.
We are having a joint birthday party on March 17th for the boys. Brycen turns 1 on March 13th and Lucas turns 2 on April 2nd. We are doing a Cars Theme, because that is what Lucas is obsessed with right now.
There is a slight chance that I might be pregnant. I am not on the pill, nor do we use condoms. We use the pull and pray method. I'll tell you guys what is going on and you can decide if you think I should test or not. I got my last "period" on February 1st. It was on CD 20 so I was really shocked when it came because I had never ever had one that early. It last 3-4 days, wasn't too overly heavy. I haven't had anything since. So now we are on CD 38 and there is no sign of AF at all. I thought it was going to start last night because I had a pantyliner on and there was a hint of pink on it, mixed with CM but I haven't had anything else. So now I don't know. I told DH it was starting last night, so I am sure he will be surprised when I tell him that it didn't. So do you guys think I should test or just wait it out. I have a doctors apt on Wednesday, for a checkup on my migraines so I could see if they could do a test there if I still haven't gotten it. So there is my very long overdue update. Hopefully I will try and keep up with you guys this month.
Cheryl - OF COURSE I think you should take a test. ;)
Cheryl- I hope you get the answer you want when you test! I'm glad Brycen is doing so well with the physical therapy.
Adrienne- Congrats! That is wonderful news:)
