Mari,

I second everyone else's comment about colic not being related to food. Now there could be a food intolerance and eliminating dairy isn't a bad thing to try (except that dairy is in so many things so it could be hard on mama to find substitutes!)

I had colic my first 6 weeks and my mom said what finally broke it was a car trip to visit relatives several states away, lol!

Katie,

Glad Z's cheeks are getting better. Hope your earache will be gone soon! Have you been to the doctor yet?

Sarah,

Desmond and Eloise have grown so much, I almost didn't recognize them! I love Eloise's sense of style. And when did Sully become blonde?? I thought he had darker hair?

So cute!

Andi cute pictures.

Hi everyone else typing with sleeping baby on my lap so not going to do personals.

I am lurking here and posting on facebook, mainly because facebook is easier when I only have a few minutes to spare looking at things and then have to pop off the computer and pop back on.

Thank you for the sig Mary

Katie - haha, isn't it great that they'll play in the crib with their toys for a bit?! I love it... I was worried that it would interrupt their sleep because they'd think they'd rather play than sleep, but we find they really only play with the toys after they wake up, or sometimes for just a few minutes before falling asleep. Z is so out of control with his growing up! More pictures!! :)

Erica - I'm working on renewing my resolve to sign... it's been better this week and I have tried to simplify (like rather than using different signs for water, thirsty, juice, etc. I just pick the easiest sign and use it for anything related to drinking. I would rather they learn it the real way, but I also have to simplify so I dont go nuts!)

Mari - Glad you're settling in! How does it feel to be a mom of two!? I hope Fede gets well soon and you all manage to avoid the germs.

Well I attemped to make a siggie which is Ok I guess. I think I'll keep trying as I don't care for it but it's a start. I had to wait so long to get a new one I finally gave up. I figured they can't be that hard to make. The basics I got but I think I added too much blue to it.

Carly, your Tad is such a cutie pie. I love your signature!

Mari, some babies have trouble with the foods that mommy eats, but others do not. I have never avoided any foods due to nursing, and none of my three babies have shown any issues. Some moms do see a difference in baby's temperament when they eliminate dairy, but that isn't a cure-all. I would wait and see. If Julia seems to have colic or is just fussy, try eliminating something. Try not to stress about the what-ifs.

As for avoiding colds/germs, I have to say that Fletcher almost never got sick as a baby. Jonah got sick more often, and with two big brothers, Charlotte gets every bug that they bring home from school. It is so frustrating! I know that I am doing the best I can by breastfeeding, but it is still SO hard to keep her brothers off of her. I make the boys wash their hands when they get home from school, and I encourage them to kiss the bottoms of her feet or the top of her head. That was what our pediatrician recommended when she was born. It doesn't always work, but we try!
