Yes I know the clip is too low in the picture- he was in the stroller and I had loosened up the buckle since we were out of the car.

Adrienne-

Thanks so much for starting this thread. I finally got a ticker up for Lucas. It only took me 4 weeks :)

Elyse - what a cutie! Thanks for sharing!

Sandy - I always wanted 2 kids, the main reason being that I didn't want to have a child with no siblings. My two closest friends are only children and they always wanted a sibling. But.... I am done! I honestly don't think I can do this again. Plus right now we can't financially afford another one. DH makes okay money but not great, and while I have a university degree, I'm not actually skilled in a specific career path so

Sandy- Yeah having a baby with colic has really made me rethink our timing plans. I still definitely want at least two more but now that I know how much more time consuming and stressful a baby with colic is we won't be spacing them any closer then 2 3/4 or 3 years apart. I can't imagine dealing with a fussy baby like Theodor and also having a 1 1/2 or 2 year old in the house.

I hope David starts sleeping better again! Theo just went through a phase where he would wake up at 2ish and 4ish for a feed and then refuse to fall back asleep for at least an hour or two- it was awful! Thankfully he is back to "normal" and is only fussing for about 20 minutes once or twice a night- although he doesn't sleep longer then 3ish hours max at night he does take really awesome naps during the day in his wrap and stroller if I am outside.

Just so you know I am an only child and love it! Of course I had a few years around 5-7 where I wanted an -older- sibling but I got over that very quick, and I don't know that I really would have liked it LOL. I'm not spoiled but it is nice to always have "your choice" for example if I wanted to go biking and my mom did too then we went biking no sibling who wanted to go to the museum instead :P

I also was able to do a lot more then I would have had my mom had more then one, big trips during school, etc.

If you are happy with your decision don't let anyone try to con you into the thought that only children miss out or are deprived, as there are clearly positive and negatives to having sibling or having none:)

YAY for potty training progress! I totally know what you mean. I can't help but fantasize about TTC on Jensen's first birthday since I really would love an October baby, but then I think, do I really want 2 under 2?

Rob wants 5 kids and as soon as we got over the delivery shock, just a week after Jensen was born, Rob was like "I miss you being pregnant. If we win the lottery I think I am just going to keep you pregnant forever" LOL! So yeah, we had #2 planned right away. We had originally planned on waiting 3 years, then that changed to 2, and now if he gets the apprenticeship he wants, it will be down to 1 year before TTC lol!

Sarah I am sure you'll decide what is right about TTC when the time comes. Congrats on Desmond going in on the potty.

Funny you mention that Ash, this weekend I told DS that if I could call 1-800-SIBLING he would have an older brother right away.

Ash- I wasn't trying to say there is anything wrong with being an only child. I would love to have a sibling for David but if it turns out we don't, I am fine with it. I think my family would be more upset if we didn't than we are. We are only having 2 at the most since we both came from families with 2 and we can't afford any more than that. I am already 34 and will be 35 in September so I only have so much more time to have another one. Plus, as I said I want to wait to see if we could afford me to stay home as I think it wouldn't be worth it for me to work with two. However, we haven't made a decision yet either way. I'll see what happens when David is like 1 1/2 and talk with dh and then we'll make a decision. If he doesn't want another I don't want to pressure him into doing something he doesn't want. Before we had David he wasn't ready and I kind of pressured him and then when I finally stopped then he decided he was ready. So, I don't want to go through that again and whatever is meant to be will happen. Sorry for the long ramble here. I also hear you on the colic. I hope the next one isn't so challenging. Of course I had colic and my brother didn't so you never know.

Anyway...those of you who have older babies or kids when did you start sleep training? We started it the other day and not going well. I put him in his crib and he screamed for like 10 min so I finally took him out. I know he can do it because a few times during night feedings he was done and changed and I put him in his crib and he put himself to sleep. So I am hoping we can get there soon. I think I'll wait awhile and try again. Also I have issues with breastfeeding as he is using for comfort and falling asleep while I am feeding him. I know it is common in young babies but I don't think he should be doing it at almost 5 months. Whenever he does that I wake him up and that is why I bottle feed him before bed otherwise I wonder if he's getting enough.

I can't believe David will be 5 months tomorrow. Where has the time gone?? I will be taking pictures of him. Hoping to get some professionals done at 6 months but we'll see.

Thanks for the wonderful siggie Dedi
