Ella I won't worry about Eliza's weight at all. Eloise has been a tiny thing, but Desmond was 19lbs 13oz or so at 6 months and only 23 pounds or so at 1. A lot of breastfed babies bulk up a lot the first 6 months and then slow down a ton the second. Desmond is actually only 31 pounds now at 3, so really only 11 pounds more then he was at 6 months. It is completely normal for a baby to hit 20ish pounds at 6 months, even an exclusively breastfed baby.

Ella, I second what a lot of the others have said - EBF babies gain a LOT in the first 6 month, and are much slower gainers in the second half year. Teddy was 22 lbs at his 6 mths appt - a real whopper! Then he started crawling and walking and at 12mths was only 25lbs; so it does even out a lot. Good thing about EBFing is you can't get an obese baby - they're just taking what they need! :-)

Kelly, whoo hoo for Elena forwards crawling :-) A friend of mine has a daughter who only started crawling at 11 months (she was the last in our group), but now she's started walking (at 14 months) and is ahead of some of the others. It can happen really quickly :-)

Cara, glad you're making some progress with Tenley's sleeping habits! It's nice to have the bed to yourself once in a while :-)

Mari, had to laugh a bit about your bottle story - like Kelly said, a case of Mummy brain ;-) You know what I did the other day? I made myself a sandwhich and hours later, I found that I'd put the cheese in the cutlery drawer instead of back in the fridge...LOL!

Hi to everyone else!

AFM, Teddy was sick again last night. I'm beginning to wonder if he really has sick bugs all the time, or if there is something else that causes him to throw up all the time. I'm more and more looking forward to our paediatrics appointment!
In other news, I don't know if any of you followed the elections in the UK but we've got a Hung Parliament which is pretty much the worst thing that could happen to the economy. I hope they still manage to get their act together and form a government soon...! DH has been very sweet this week though so I'm feeling quite good about talking to him later. I'll let you know how it goes...

Anna, sorry Teddy is sick again! Poor little guy! I hope it is just another bug and not something more serious. There seems to be a stomach flu going around over here and I know we're on another continent and all but these things really do spread. I have been hearing in the news about the election in the UK and the repercussions on the economy and I actually thought about you. I hope it all gets sorted sooner rather than later.

Sandy - sorry about the drama over the card. I hope it will all blow over

Oh my goodness you'd think Elena had been properly crawling all this time, rather than just a few days! She is already chasing the cat and even following me to the bathroom! She's also getting into a lot more things now that she can cover so much ground so much more quickly - like my little magazine basket at the far corner of the living room that she never went into before. Now I know why people kept telling me that things are much easier before they are mobile. LOL!

Kelly, that's great! Just wait til she's walking - then she can speed along where she wants to AND has both her hands free to do mischief with ;-) And thanks for thinking of me when you saw about the UK elections :-) It's been 5 days now so hopefully they'll start forming a governemnt soon.

AFM - I feel a bit like a character from a soap opera saying this - it seems like we're on again for June?!!

I thought that I would write real quick while I have a minute since Luke is sleeping. Things are going fairly well here. We are still both BF and FF. We are working on finding a formula that is right for him though, because he has been spitting up quite a bit even after burping well and sitting up for 20-25 minutes after a feeding.

This Thursday we are going to get his pictures done. My cousin is the manager of a picture studio at the mall and she gave us a gift certificate to go there, and she also gives us 50% all the pictures that we order. I am hoping that Luke will cooperate and won't be screaming the entire time.

Last night he slept from 9-2:30 and then again from 3:30- 8am. I am happy with that. Today I am trying to catch up on things around the house. I balanced the check book for the first time since Mid March, and really cleaned the bathroom for the first time since before he was born. I still have a lot to get done, but it is a good start.

I am so far behind on Personal's but I have been reading. Hopefully next time I can reply to them.

Here's a few recent pictures of Luke..

Anna - I hope your DH is really on board this time and doesn't flip flop on you again. This has got to be so incredibly frustrating for you! I say get started now before he changes his mind again. ;)

Cheryl - yay for almost STTN! I thought it was awesome when Elena started sleeping such long stretches like that. Of course I was still getting up twice a night to pump regardless of whether she was up or not, but that's another story. And yay for getting some things done! I keep thinking that a fantastic baby shower gift should be maid service for a year. Elena is almost a year old and I'm still lucky if I can clean the bathroom every 6 weeks. Maybe I'd have more luck if she actually took naps longer than 30 minutes, but again, that's another story. LOL.

CARA- I'm glad T is sleeping better, it must be such a relief for you!
KELLY- Yay for Elena crawling forward!!
ELLA- Don't worry too much about Eliza's weight, fede is also a huge baby, but I guess it's like the other girls say, they are building up fat for the growth spurts to come.
SANDY- I hope the family drama solves quickly... I've been there myself and it totally sucks!
ANNA- LOL ant the cheese story!!! It totally sounds like something I would do! Oh, and congratulations on your DH's change of heart!! I'm so happy for you!
CHERYL- I hear you on the cleaning! Thank goodness, one of my mom's PGcy gifts was to pay for a cleaning lady once a week... at first I was so against it (made me feel like a snob), and now I have to admit that I can't survive without her! She does all those things I never have the time to do, like cleaning the bathroom or the windows.

AFM- I'm so happy right now! Fede just learned to roll over and laugh in the same week!!!! His laugh is so cute! It's like a raspy throat sound mixed with giggles!
And also, I got an architecture job it's one of DH's co-workers, who wants me to design his home. Pretty big, and with lot's of interesting stuff, like a wine cellar, guest house, etc... It should be fun, but I'm thinking I'll have to "hire" my MIL as babysitter, because there is no way Fede will let me have the time I need to solve such a thing!
We also finally bought a camera in replacement of the one that was stolen last year. Soon I'll be posting new pics and videos!

Hi everyone,

I've been reading all your posts but am just not in the mood for personals right now so I'll just give an update on me, if you don't mind.

My first Mother's Day turned out to be a very nice day. We spent some quality time together as a family and DH even surprised me with roses.

Selin went back for her last 2 shots on Monday and did much better than the first shots. And I didn't cry this time either, haha. She has become much more vocal lately and every time I try to catch her on video, of course she stops and becomes quiet, lol. We went out to dinner on M-Day and she was getting antsy in my lap so I moved the ketchup and mustard bottles in front of her and she started "talking" to them. At one point she even shrieked in excitement, it was so funny, DH and I couldn't stop laughing.

Tonight I had to run out for a little bit so DH took her to his mom's and tried to give her a bottle but she wouldn't take it. This is now twice in the last week that she refused a bottle from him. She had taken it successfully twice before (even drinking one down to the last drop) so we're back to square one again. DH said I should start giving her at least one bottle/day but I think he should be the one to do it as everything I've read and been told says to have someone other than the mother give the bottle. DH is afraid she won't take a bottle come August when I have to go back to work but I think with a little more practice, she'll be just fine. I also reminded him that by then she'll be nearly 6 months old and hopefully eating solids and not needing/wanting as much milk throughout the day?

Yesterday I went to my therapist for a session since I had a few things I've been trying to sort through. Some family drama on my side and also the anxiety I'm feeling about going back to work. My therapist agreed that it's going to be super hard on me emotionally because being a SAHM is something I've wanted for so long and care so much about. She suggested I try to find a PT job closer to home and when I brought it up to DH tonight at dinner, of course he rejected the idea and basically said that money is more important right now. He just does not understand that my emotional well-being and the well-being of our daughter is more important than money. He thinks I'm just being lazy and don't want to go back to work so I don't know what else to do to convince him otherwise. He just came in here to check on me (he's in the other room watching a movie and I've been ignoring him since dinner) and when I told him why I was still upset, he said "well, I'll think about it". If my boss was agreeable to me working a modified schedule, then I wouldn't have so much anxiety about going back to work but I'm almost 100% sure she's going to say no. My therapist suggested waiting a few more weeks until June before asking her. It would be a miracle if she agreed to a different schedule (dropping to 4 days/wk or working from home a few days) but I just don't see it happening. :-(

I'll try to end my post on a positive note. Selin and I will be going to the zoo in a few weeks with the mom's group in my neighborhood. I finally went to one of their events and everyone was very welcoming so I decided to try another. One of the moms has a minivan and offered to drive Selin and I so it's even better for us. She loved the storytime we went to last week so I'm trying to go at least once every 1-2 weeks.

Mari - I either didn't know or completely forgot that you are an architect. That is so cool! Congrats on the job - designing houses sounds like so much fun. I think I would really enjoy architecture but I bet it is
