I remembered in thinking about my ridiculous non-baby related rant that we used to have a spot for things like that!

How about a Mommy check in?

Name (DH/SO Name):

What's your current occupation?

Tell us a work story (SAHM's, get creative!)

How are things with DH/SO?

Ruby - I have my fingers crossed for your interview on the 12th, but I'm so glad that you will have that temporary contract until Dec. AND you got into your #1 daycare.

AFM - we took Evan in to visit his daycare today. This transition is going to be SUPER hard on me. He's going to be the smallest/youngest baby (the youngest one there now is just over a year), and he will be the only one that can't move (the rest are all walking). They're also so ahead of him in terms of eating and stuff. It makes me feel like he'll be ignored or left behind. They are used to dealing with younger babies there (one of the reasons we chose them), but I still feel bad about it. Any advice from BTDTs?

Ruby it sounds like you did exactly what your body needed and that is awesome that your MIL could watch Maxim in the mornings.

How great that everything worked out with daycare! I hope the job interview goes really well next week!

P.S. Adrienne- Could we make this a monthly thread? I think it is pretty intimidating to see these 100+ threads on the board:)

Great news Ruby! I'm so glad you were able to get some R&R for yourself and I think going back to work will be good for your sanity, even if it's only temporary and not for the ideal employer. GL with the hospital interview, too! Hope you'll get an offer!

We're driving home from Montreal now (started last night actually). Was thinking of you Canadian gals as we drove through Ontario. :-)

Hello ladies,

I'm all caught up on the various threads!!! 4 new babies while I was away!!

I checked out of the world last week....when I got home from the cottage 2 weeks ago, I did not want to be here. The loss of that job and everything else, my DH's stress, we basically werent talking to each other and biting each others heads off when we were...all stress, we werent really upset with each other. And we havent had sex in 3 weeks now which is a long time for us (and this week is because AF showed up on Sunday)...ugh it was too much. The thought of staying in this house another day was literally making me sick. My poor baby...so I decided last Saturday that I would stay at camp. So I did. My Mil and Dh's grand maman were there as well..they basically live there all summer. So me and the baby stayed there with them. It was really nice. Got lots of sun and sleep. My MIL loves to watch the baby in the mornings when we are there so I got to sleep in every day while she took care of him. I read four books. Got into the whiskey with my BIL's on Thursday night and had some laughs. Most important, I had my cell phone but only DH and I texted back and forth and only to give me important messages. I had no internet or email so I was cut off from everybody. It was nice and I feel much better mentally. Dh and I are getting along much better and we really missed each other (after AF is gone, well...3 weeks is a long time)...when he came to camp on Thursday, I was so happy to see him and just felt extra lovey towards him all weekend.

So the important messages. One was my supervisor telling me I could have the contract if I wanted it. So I took it and I start on the 11th. Its short term until December and I'm still looking. I'm really resolved to just go to work and earn a paycheck and tell them to stick it where the sun dont shine later. I'll also do the grievance as planned too but not for a few more weeks perhaps. The other is that I finally have an interview at our local hospital...I must have sent over 100 resumes in the last 4 years to that place and I FINALLY have an interview...on the 12th!! God I am so hopeful it will happen.

Oh and we really lucked out. We were on two waitlists for day care in town and we kept telling them that we couldnt take a spot because of me not working. So when I took the contract, my MIL volunteered to take him at the camp during the week in case we were in a bind. Well we dont need her because our first choice has a spot for him! A French daycare literally down the street from DH's workplace. So we have meetings with them tomorrow and then he starts on Wednesday of this week. So I have 3 days to get organized before I go back to work and 3 days to deal with any issues for Maxim adjusting if they arise.

Anyway, thats my update! Busy week ahead but actually looking forward to it!!!

That is so awesome Cassie! Can you believe that in just a few weeks you will be working a new job and never have to deal with all of the craziness surrounding your current one ever again??! Congrats!

Glad it wasn't too horrible today, Cassie. That's awesome that Matt is able to help you guys get settled. Everything else will fall into place. Just keep moving forward and don't look back!

Thanks everyone. She didn't attempt to talk me out of it. Though many of my associates have. I ended up giving them the three weeks. So my last day will be the 21st into the 22nd. So between now and then I have lots of things to go through and lots of planning. so ultimatly this is the time line:

22 termination papers

25th is Simon's 18month check up (get copy of records to take with us)

Cassie, I'm so happy!!! Congratulations!!!! I agree with Christine, they really don't deserve more than 2w notice, and in any case, I feel like you will need more than a week to get all things sorted. So unless they BEG you, I would offer 2. It's also great that Matt will be able to come along with you.. How long until school starts again for him? (I'm really so happy for you... yay!!!!)
