Mommy talk?

Ladies, I've been wanting to start this thread for some time now.
I don't know if you feel the same, but sometimes I feel the need to talk with adults about general stuff... not only baby stuff!
We have the baby update thread to talk about our babies and their progress, here we can talk about everything else. Of course, since we are moms, there will be a lot about our kids, but they won't be the center of the thread.
Also, I suppose it will be a really slow thread, none of us has much time to post. But I hope it goes on even if slowly.

I'll start:

I think I've finally adjusted to having my baby at home after the NICU. We are back on a routine and I feel more like myself again.
What worries me right now is the relationship between DH and I. It's not like we are fighting or anything. It's just that it seems we are parents... and not lovers anymore. I mean, we don't spend time "just for the two of us". It's always about the baby, or work, or financial issues. And it sucks! I've tried to talk about it with him, but he doesn't seem to feel like there is anything wrong!! I suppose it has to do with the way our own parents were. My parents tried to find time for their relationship, going on dates and finding time during the day to talk. His parents live through their children and I've noticed that by now they are almost scared to go out alone as a couple. I suppose they can't find what to talk about...
Another thing is our sex life. Between the baby, his work and life in general we are really exhausted. And when we are in the mood, baby is asleep, we are not tired and the planets are aligned....... it hurts so much that it feels awful!!!! I got some advice in the sex thread I posted, but it sucks that the only think I can do is "give it time and patience"!!!!

On a brighter note, we are just about to buy our dream lot! Finally there is still some paperwork left to do, but I think it is a matter of days. I'll try to post pictures soon!

Mari I think that dress is gorgeous! As for burgundy shantung, do you have black shoes? I was part of a bridal party that had to wear burgundy dresses once and we all wore black shoes. Black lace over an ivory background does sound really lingerie-like, but I would have to see a picture of the dress to really make a judgement call. Sounds like it could be nice though!

Ella I'm so sorry your MIL found your blog and has been reading it behind your back! I'm not sure what your relationship is like, but could you talk to her about it? I don't really have any other suggestions but wanted to give you a big ((((hug)))). Of course you can always vent to us! (or has she found us too?)

I wore a dress similar to you option 2 (black lace over ivory) to a work Christmas party. I thought it looked great. 2 of my co-workers didn't realize there was an ivory underpart to it and asked if I was naked under the lace. Very embarrassing.

I'm sorry your mother in law found your blog Ella. There is a reason I never post about things and people annoying me on my blog, because I know both my in-laws and my parents read my blog. It kind of sucks since it would be nice to have a place to rant about things they do that annoy me, but I can't. I mean I guess I could start up a private blog as well, but I don't really feel like doing that, so I tend to just rant to DH about things that both sets of parents do that annoy me.

Ella - that must be so awful for you! I totally get the "reading my diary" feeling. That is YOUR blog and obviously you want to blog about whatever's on your mind; and not have to worry about your MIL!

Mari - wow what a dress, I think both colours would work well. I'm in awe that you can pull a dress like that off; I'd psobably look like a stuffed sausage with all my rolls showing LOL.

Ella, yeah, that blows. No other word for it! How on earth did she find it!? I mean, the internet is a vast wilderness--I can't imagine she'd just stumble upon it unless she had knowledge of it, some serious Google skills and determination. It's public and all but I would feel violated too. When I had my chemical pg, I specifically went to your blog and read your posts about m/c for reassurance...it just sucks you had to take that all down.
