Sandy - I have no advice, but I'm very interested in what people have to say too.

Hi ladies! I have been reading, but entirely on my phone because I fried my laptop last weekend by spilling on it. We needed a new computer anyway and thankfully I kept all our baby pictures on my phone and other cameras so even if they can't restore the hard drive I won't have lost them all (can you imagine?! That would be heart breaking!!) It's frustrating but not the end of the world. Anyway, I'm reading but may not be able to post much!
Oh and any P&PT you can send to my aunt and uncle in Arizona would be great. My uncle was just diagnosed with brain cancer that has already spread. It's not looking good. My mom was going to come here and visit the babies this month but it looks like I may be needing to go over there. Not a trip I was wanting to make under these circumstances any time soon. :(

Andi,

Just a little suggestion for the future. We keep all our photos on a personal web photo site that way if I would lose the pictures they would be there. I also post them on facebook too and we also have a back up hard drive on our computer. So I think we have them backed up enough. I know there are free sites you can put your photos on. Some of them you might even be able to do passwords so if you don't want them pubilic. I am not sure, you would have to do some research but it is an idea.

Sorry about your uncle. My uncle's brother also has cancer and he's not going to make it. By the time they found it, it was too late.

Good thoughts to your uncle Andi, and your uncle's brother as well Sandy.

Sandy: I hate that stage when some days they are interested in the potty and some days they aren't. It is one of those, would you just make up your mind one way or the other kid? Moments. I won't mention how many times we went through it with Desmond, but he did it a number of times before actually deciding he was ready to potty train. Fortunately Eloise has been a bit easier in that regard. I'm hoping Sully follows Eloise's lead not Desmond's!

As for 2 in a bedroom. We have 3 bedrooms upstairs, which means that someone is sharing. Eloise and Desmond actually have their own bedrooms at the moment, but come summer Sully will be moving in with Desmond. Eloise and Desmond also sleep together a couple of times a week. It works out fine, but we also co-sleep until the baby is night weaned, so it is over a year until they start sharing, which isn't really applicable in your situation. When we have guests (okay my Mom or my Mom and Dad), Eloise moves into either the room with Desmond or into the main bedroom, or occasionally just sleeps with my Mom or Mom and Dad, since they don't mind snuggling with her. We decided we really didn't need a guest room since it is normally just my Mom or Mom and Dad 4 or 5 times a year, so we would rather just move Eloise for the 10 to 15 days a year that they are here, then waste a room for guests that is never used.

Thank you for the sig Mary

Sandy, I think y ou are worrying too much, too soon!

My personal experience: When I was a kid, we lived in a 3 bedroom house. The smallest room was where we kept all the toys. The biggest room was for me, my sister and my baby brother (since he 6 months old, before that, my parents shared their room with him). Neither of us remembers one single night when we woke up to his cries. Maybe he was a good sleeper, but It's more likely that we just got used to baby cries and just rolled over and kept sleeping.

In any case, I think if you ask, you will find tons of stories supporting each side of the argument... My point is that you simply can't know what kind of sleeper your next baby will be, and if his/her cries will bother David.

If your DH is set on leaving one room as a spare, I would let him for now.... If the new baby turns out to be a horrible sleeper, circumstances will undoubtedly change DH's mind!!!! HTH!

Andi - I am so sorry about your uncle. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers!

Erica - Glad Fletcher's teachers don't think it is anything really serious and it is still just normal transitional stuff. Still, that's hard to see as a parent, I'm sure...

Chistine - Haha, you're sweet - sorry to disappoint, I am definitely not pg! I did POAS just do be sure because I was just so confused by this AF... 2 days?? I guess there was some spotting on the 3rd day, but that's it. Nothing after that. Weirdness. I'm glad to know I'm fertile again, but now DH and I have to be careful -- we had been getting really lazy with the BC there for a while... if it were up to DH, we'd start TTC right now... I *want* to in my heart, but my head tells me something different... ugh! I just don't know. And a good friend of mine who was also extended BFing her 19 month old just found out she is unexpectedly pg. Didn't even have an AF yet and then POOF - pregnant! I sort of secretly wished that would happen to us... :) Alas, nothing can be that easy!

Just had to share...Selin peed on the potty for the first time tonight!!! We have not been pushing her at all, just following her cues. I mentioned previously that she now tells us when she's pooped and tonight DH took her to my ILs and he said she was sitting on the couch and started saying "pee pee". They just happened to have a toilet ring from when our niece was potty training (or maybe she still uses it, I dunno) so DH asked her if she wanted to go on the toilet, she said yeah and peed!

I know we probably still have a long way to go but I'm still so excited!! :-D
