Alyssa -- I can't believe Evan is going to be one year old! It seems like such a short time ago that he was brand new.
Ella -- I'm sure it's rough not having your hubby around as much. I know I am quite dependent on Cory. When he is busy, life just feels off.
Cassie -- I think it is awesome that you are trying to establish an Animal Emergency Response Team. The field that you've chosen really shows your kind heart! I'm sure it is stressful at times though.
Morgan -- I love to read your updates because Max and Charlotte are exactly the same age. Fletcher also likes to play with Charlotte on the bed, but Jonah just ends up getting in trouble for climbing all over her.
Liz -- Congrats on the promotion! Have fun at the conference.
Sarah -- I'm glad to hear that Desmond's speech therapy has been productive. My best friend is a speech pathologist, and I am totally fascinated by the work she does with kids!
Andi -- Yay for good sleepers! I won't shoot you :) Your success gives me hope!
Sandy -- I've found that my kids' sleep schedules change all the time. They stay in one rhythm for a couple of months and then shift again. And even at 6 and 3, they have no concept of sleeping in on the weekends! Oh how I wish they would!
Kelly -- Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! How nice that you get to spend it with friends.
Em -- I'll get you up on the front page this morning! Niagara Falls sounds wonderful. I haven't been there since I was a kid.
Elyse -- Brag all you want! Isn't it fun to watch these little guys grow? Happy early birthday, William.
Amy -- Good luck with your move. I love the nickname "Lainey" for your baby girl.
Katie -- The infant massage class sounds like fun!

What we're up to : We moved again.
Alyssa- David still naps two hours a day which I read is totally normal for his age. He's still too little not to nap at all. he'd be a cranky boy. I talked to a few mom friends that are going through the same thing. So maybe it is normal. Also he wakes up hungry so I am thinking that could be part of it too. Unfortunately once I feed him he won't go back to sleep. I thought of trying to give him food in his room, leave and go back to sleep myself and see if he goes back to sleep awhile.
I'm just worried he's not getting enough sleep. Like if he gets up at 6am, he is cranky the whole morning. If it's closer to 7 or after 7 he seems to do fine. I'm going to play with some bedtimes the next few weeks and see what works best. The problem is if I try an early bedtime he will not go to bed after 8pm even if I try to put him to bed at 730 or 745. It seems if I put him closer to 815 or 830 he goes right to sleep so I am almost thinking that is a better bedtime for him. If make him go to bed earlier he just gets mad. It says that he should be getting around 11 hours, he got about 10 last night so maybe you are right he doesn't need as much sleep. everyone is different. That guideline is just exact that a guideline.
I wish he would go back to sleeping until 8 or at least 730 on weekends but it doesn't seem like that is going to happen anytime soon.

Personals for the first and probably last time this month :D
Alyssa: That is so exciting that Evan will be one, I am sure you will all have a great time!
Ella: You sound so busy! DH works a ton so normally he only sees Teddy for about 30-60 minutes in the morning while getting ready and then some nights not at all and others a half hour before he goes to bed- if we are lucky an hour. So we just try to get in lots of fun time during the weekend but it would be super hard to accept if before it had been different! I hope Andy’s schedule eases off a bit and you all can go back to having nice family dinners again :)
Cassie: Your job sounds awesome- but also stressful and emotionally hard when thinking about the animals which aren’t adopted. Simon sounds adorable, it’s great that you have family with you now that DH can’t be there for awhile.
Morgan: Max sounds adorable! It is crazy how quick they start moving. I’m glad Halley enjoys being a big sister.
Liz: Congrats on the promotion! The conference sounds like it will be fun, and Peter sounds like he is doing really well. How cute that he can say gator.
Sarah: I am always so impressed with how much you manage to get done and do with your 3 kids!!! It sounds like they are all doing really well- I can’t believe Sully is already cruising! They start moving so early in your family :)
Andi: We all have those moments so don’t feel bad. Just remember that come school time this stuff had really all normalized and everyone is on a pretty even playing field. It isn’t going to matter later on when they turned for the first time or sat without help! I hope your work transition goes well and that Elia’s eye infection is gone soon.
Sandy: We are also dealing with some early wake up times. Teddy takes a 2 hour nap and normally goes to bed at 7 and wakes up at 7 but lately he has been getting up at 6/6:20 and not falling back asleep. It is too early for us and for him- just like David he is super cranky and whiny the mornings that he wakes up so early. If we give him a bottle he only drinks about half of it and then just wants to play so I don’t think it is a hunger thing. He just had another tooth pop through but it didn’t seem to bother him so I don’t think it is that. We have daylight savings this weekend so even though we are going to keep bedtime at 7, it will be like 8 for the first few weeks until he adjusts. I am hoping that it just naturally sets his clock back so he starts sleeping until 7 again, otherwise we will also have to think about a later bedtime. One thing you might want to try is having David go outside or do something really active about an hour or so before bedtime so that he is really tired out.
Kelly: Nice to see you! I hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving- I can’t believe Elena is already almost 2 and a half!
Em: I hope you also have a great Thanksgiving and that N chats up some relatives for awhile so you get a bit of a break ;) Teddy also loves to “help”. My favorite is when he unloads the dishwasher with me. I have to grab everything after he has it in his hand for about a quarter of a second so he doesn’t break it LOL.
Elyse: I don’t think you are strange for not missing the baby stage. William sounds so cute. I love that he knows all the train names:)
Amy: That is awesome that the move is only a month away. I hope you get lots of help packing. Does Jensen like to help?
Katie: I’m glad Zaydren liked baby massage, Teddy couldn’t stand it LOL. I can’t believe he is already 3 months old- time is flying!
Erica: Yay for finding a house you love! And for moving to a cheaper rental in the meantime. I also am so against grades in first grade. Progress reports yes- grades no! I hope the situation gets better as he gets adjusted to school and all of that. I hope Jonah keeps reverting more and more back to his old self for you and that Charlotte’s sleep keeps improving!
Name: Ash Little Ones and ages: Teddy is a year and a half What is your family up to?
Well Teddy is totally fixated on dad. He cries every morning when he leaves and likes to copy everything he does, it is SO cute and sweet- especially since he doesn’t get all that much time with him during the week. He also has started saying 2 real words! He has been speaking tons in his cute little baby language- which sounds so complex it is absolutely hilarious to watch him have conversations with people and we all have no clue what is going through his head or what he is trying to say, but recently he has started repeating Nein which means no and saying Baby. For both words though it isn’t clear if he really understands them AND he only says them when he feels like it so it is really hard to tell what is going through his head but I am not worried. He hears 2 languages every day and I have a feeling that in the coming months it is just going to make click for him and he will start saying quite a few words at once. He also loves to read- BUT only if he does it himself which often means the book is upside down, but he will sit in his room looking at books for 10-15 minutes sometimes talking to himself the whole time and pointing to random things on the page and saying “da” which means there in German but DH and I have both agreed doesn’t count as a word LOL. Even though he isn’t talking he is very good at making his intentions known, he simply takes my hand and leads me to where he wants to go or what he wants to do- sometimes he has even been known to try and shove DH and I out of a chair to get us to play with him ;)
My mom is coming to visit for 3 weeks at the end of the month and I am super excited! Teddy adores her when we skype and I know he will love having her here- plus we’ll have a babysitter for lots of nights out LOL. In terms of the physical stuff he is doing so well. He can climb anything, he can eat with a fork and spoon (when he feels like it which is thankfully almost all of the time), he is always doing that cute toddler run, and he loves to practice going up and down curbs and the like without using his hands, he also loves walking on ledges. We are doing parent baby gym classes and it has been a great outlet for all his energy, most of the children are closer to 3 but he does pretty well even though he needs improvement on his listening skills LOL.
I also should add that at least 3-5 times a day he does something which makes me want to throw him out the window (joking!). Recently that has included taking 2 boxes of cereal and emptying them all over the living room, taking my makeup and hiding it throughout the flat including in the garbage, laundry hampers, and washing machine, and now that he can open all of our doors he loves to go into DH’s office and get at anything within reach. We are having to lock most of the rooms which is super annoying but just a phase as I tell DH :)
Cassie, work is going well - I was getting 4 shifts a week for a while which was definitely a help financially! I'm down to 2 now though because they hired a couple of newbies. :( As far as shool goes, I'm taking Biology 12 right now and unfortunately it's been a bit slow-going, since I'd been working so much but hopefully now that I'm getting fewer shifts I'll at least have more time to work on it. I'm on Unit 3 of 12 so I'm getting somewhere, albeit slowly!
Alyssa - erm, yah, good luck with that "no terrible two's" thing... I'm already telling myself my girls WON'T be teenagers (at least, typical teenagers)
