Oh, and I meant to say, Katie, yes those are the infant toddler rockers - they are the BEST aren't they!!? I would go so far as to say they are the single best item we received at my shower... x2. Amy, if you don't already have a good seat to use, I really recommend these... they are great to put the babies in either when you need free hands for the other one, or when you need a break. The babies can be sitting up (nice for right after feedings to avoid reflux) or in a laying down position and it has a vibrate feature. We have carpet and we scoot those things all over the house like race cars. If your DH is ever bottle feeding them, it's easy to put them both in the chairs and feed both at the same time. Sometimes I'll park them both in front of the screen door looking out to our backyard and the girls will sit there for an hour (usually until they fall asleep), cooing to each other and enjoying the breeze and outside sounds (see below

Andi--It sounds like it's Elia's front lateral incisor. Peter got one of his bottom teeth at 10.5 months, and then both front lateral incisors at 11.5 months. Then the other bottom one came in, and then the top two middle (but not at the same time). He's cut 8 teeth in the last three months. It's been wonderful. Ha.

As for baby-led weaning with no teeth...those gums are hard! It was amazing to see some of the things Peter could eat with no teeth!

Andi - Evan didn't get teeth until he was 10.5 months and had NO problem with BLW. He was even eating toasted bagels. You'd be surprised what they can "chew" once they figure it out. The one thing with BLW is the learning curve is a bit steep - it will take longer for them to figure out how to eat, but once they do, it takes off, and you don't have to deal with switching from purees to solids down the road. It was probably one of the best parenting decisions we've made, because it's been pretty easy with Evan.

As for teeth, I remember being able to feel one of Evan's canines fairly early on (4-5 months, maybe?) but it's not even through now. His teeth came in atypically, with his two top front teeth coming in first, then the bottom front two. I don't think it matters in what order they appear.

Oh, and we have the same infant/toddler rocker/chair for Evan! It's awesome!

Ella – Thanks for the cow’s milk advice – very reassuring! I’m so tired of my parents and in-laws nagging me about Selin’s cow’s milk intake. They’re not anti-BFing but just don’t understand the long-term effects, no matter how much info I send them. :-/

Andi – We did BLW with Selin and like Alyssa, I would have to say it is one of the best parenting decisions we’ve made. Oh and Selin didn’t get her first teeth until her first birthday and we started BLW around 6 months and she managed just fine! I loved the fact that we didn’t have to deal with jars of baby food or pureeing our own food and it forces us to make better food choices, esp. when dining out. We still get comments to this day on how well Selin feeds herself and what a good eater she is. Last fall, one of my friends was watching her while I was doing the dog-walking gig and she said Selin would always eat more than her 2 yo son! I read the BLW book Ella mentioned from my library. I didn’t read it cover to cover but I also used food charts from this website and they made it even easier to figure out what she could eat when: wholesomebabyfood.com. We would print out the chart for the stage she was in and put it on the fridge so it was very handy.

Katie – Zaydren is adorable in that outfit!! He sure is a long baby for only 3 months! Have fun with your stepson this weekend.

Erica – Meant to say earlier that I’m glad you’re making new friends through church. Are you and/or DH able to spend some one-on-one time with the boys, esp. Jonah? Sounds like he might need that extra time with one or both of you. (((HUGS)))

AFM – Met with my principal this morning to talk about my observation the other day and it turns out it was like a mini review! I kinda got nervous but she ranked me as “proficient” and higher on everything and she said I’m doing a wonderful job so that was a huge relief.

Selin has a new tooth popping up on the bottom for a grand total of 7 teeth, woohoo, lol. She was a hot mess tonight for some reason but thankfully she’s sound asleep now. Hoping she’ll give me a break and STTN tonight while we’re at my parents’ house again. Last night she was up from 12:30am-2:30am for no good reason so I only got about 4-5 hours of sleep.

Going to attempt to assemble our new Britax car seats that arrived at my parents’ house during the week. Amazon shipped them in just two days!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

All those ladies potty training - Keep up the good work!! Jensen is just not read yet and I'm not concerned about it honestly. Many experts say not to do it during life changing events and we've moved across country and are now having twins so I am not going to bother with it until he is probably 2.5 and things have settled down. He's in a no phase and tells me no now if I ask him if he needs to be changed no matter what. He used to tell me when he'd pooped or wanted to be changed. Sigh. Oh well!

Andi - I think Jensen got his first tooth in around 4 months old and it was a bottom one, but one of the 4, not the 2 in the middle. He's a cluster teether too and always gets several in at once.

Too funny about the outlet covers lol. I love when meat products print gluten free across them. Pretty sure your meat shouldn't contain wheat anyway lol. Maybe it's a key ingredient I was unaware of?

I think Jensen is going to do really well when the twins come. He LOVES babies and when we see one on TV he has to watch it and when I ask if he wants to bring a baby home he always tells me yes, despite the fact that as I mentioned above he is in a no phase and even says no to ice cream lol. He always points to my belly and says babies and wants to pat my belly or kiss. I think it's definitely going to be an adjustment for him having to share attention but he's so good and really independent so I am hoping he will just love getting to watch them and help me out with them. Fingers crossed!

Christine - Yay for a good review at work!! What a relief!

AFM - Finally starting to feel better. Unfortunately it was NOT a 24 hour bug and Jensen caught it too. He was sick a few times Friday but by Saturday he only got sick once and we both kept down dinner.

He was EXTRA sweet to me tonight.

It was getting late so I asked if he was ready for bed. He said "yes!" and grabbed his blanket and ran to his room. Rob puts him to bed because I get him up in the morning (and usually by the end of the day my back hurts too bad to lift him) and they started to the room and I said "Hey where's my good night kiss?" so Jensen turned around and ran back to me to kiss me! So sweet!

Well then Rob goes in to make his bed and Jensen runs back out of the room. I was reading and I heard Rob say "Hey where do you think you're going? It's night night time" and Jensen comes running out and runs straight to me and gives me another kiss, before running back to be put in bed!

I love my little man so much!

Amy I have heard that about potty training too. That is why we are aiming for him to be pt or close to it before we even start trying for #2. Dh said he will not have 2 in diapers.

I think Rob would prefer if Jensen was out of diapers before the twins come but to me it's not a big deal.

I thought I'd want him out asap but I find either way it doesn't bother me. All kids get there, so if he needs a little more time no big deal. I will have at least 2 in diapers anyway lol. To be honest the thought of having to clean accidents and poop off of apartment floors is worse to me then just changing diapers so that's part of why I am really just waiting on his signals. I am in no hurry to start all that if he's not ready you know?

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I think we've officially entered the terrible 2's. David had a major meltdown today. It didn't help he got up early and was really tired but he's been testing us a lot lately.

Anyway I think I decided on his birthday present for the grandparents. David has been in his baby bedding still and he's in his converted toddler bed. I know we're going to need it when we have #2 which is still awhile away but since he's going to be 2 I thought a big boy bed and new bedding would be perfect for him.

Sandy,

A lot of furniture stores have matching bedroom sets. You could buy the bed now and put the dresser on layaway or something. Or you could ask the sales people the likelihood of having that set in April so that you can purchase the dresser later.

Good luck
