Pink Eye??

Gabby had some yellowish discharge from her right eye yesterday. And my gut thought it might be pink eye but I wasn't sure. I assumed that with pink eye her eyes had to be pink. Which they aren't. I put her in her carseat and she slept until 12:30 so a good four hours. Well she was clearly running a fever because she was so warm. Her temp was only 101 but she doesn't run that warm. Gave her some motrin and she was up again 2 hours later but the feet was gone.

I started to research pink rye because she had gunk in her eye again. And a runny nose yesterday. Well I ended up calling the after hours lady and she said it might be pink

Well here is the crappy part. Minute clinic doesn't open until 10 and I am supposed to be doin the breast cancer walk with my family and friends at 7. Dh is golfing with the guys. And even if he wasn't I wouldn't want to do the walk without her. It just wouldn't be the same. I am te one that pulled this entire team togethr. I raised $1500 or so for the walk and the fret framing year gabby can go with me she gets sick. A little boy in her room had pink eye on Wednesday so I know that's where she got it. Makes me want to keep her home.

Anyway so now I am going to have to go to the mall where the walk is drop off all the stuff and head home. I have been up since 4 am again. And so tired. I will take in at 10 and then her and I will do our own walk. Happy mothers day!!

I hope Gabby's pink eye has cleared up. Fletcher has it now, and giving him drops is not easy. At five years old, he thinks everything is going to be like a shot. Six more days of drops!

Obviously you didn't really see this coming on, but I can tell you Breastmilk works--it REALLY helped james' blocked tear duct clear up, and three times now, he has seemed congested and been turning his head when nursing--I put BM in his ears a few times and it cleared right up.

Hugs to you and Gabby! I'm glad they checked her ears - Barrett had the double ear infection + pink eye this winter. Not fun, but it cleared up so quickly with antibiotics. I hope you both are doing better soon!

I was going to suggest that it could be caused by an ear infection, that was always a sign for mine. Poor thing has to be hurting, I hope that you all start feeling better soon.

Well I didn't take her on the walk. We went home instead. I tried taking her to the minute clinic and couldn't because they don't see anyone under 18 months. Took her in this morning - double ear infection and pink eye. fun times! With that and the dog throwing up and me not feeling great last night it was a whole lot of fun! I can't believe that woman would touch his eyes, I mean seriously, what's wrong with people. she deserves to get pink eye if she did.

I've heard, but have never tried this, that breast milk helps pink eye.

Bummer your ped makes you been seen for it. Ours will just call in a prescription for it.

As long as no one touches her eye and then touches their face you should be fine to take her. (good luck on your walk!!!) But you might have to keep her home from DC, most places have a 24 hour policy w/ pink eye.

Pink eye related story - when Ray was around 1 he had it and we were at Target and this much younger pregnant cashier, and started touching his eyes (the 2 seconds I look away to put our items on the counter) and saying "how come your mommy let you go out with gunk in your eyes?"... I let her have it for touching him, and did a be the way he has pink eye as I walked away.
