I am with you and I have only been doing this for 4 1/2 months. I bought a nursing bra with an underwire to wear during the day (for when I pump) and I am out an about. I LOVE It, it's so much more like a regular bra....I wear my looser nursing bras around the house, but lately I have just been wearing a nursing tank at night. the bras were getting too annoying and uncomfortable. I still have to wear the nursing pads at night because I leak if she happens to sleep too long...

Good Luck! I feel your pain! If it were me I would stick with the nursing bras, or maybe buy some really good nursing tank tops.

LOL Mari! We relate on so much eh? Sorry the nursing bras in your country arent that great...when you're big chested beyond a DD cup, they arent sexy here either :(

Anyway, I'm just going to suck it up buttercup and wear my regular bras when I'm not around the baby...which isnt all that often but Im hoping as he nurses less and less, I can wear them more. I'm wearing my regular bras with gusto this week in the Bahamas, lol!

LOL Ruby!!!! I know exactly what you mean by that!!!! In fact, that is one of the reasons I was finally ready to start weaning Fede... I know it sounds silly, but being able ot wear sexy bras is part of what I meant by "getting my body back". (BTW, we don't get all those awesome maternity bras you get in the US)

LOL I have to pay that much for my bras too! ;-) I usually go to Dillards for their semi-annual sales to get my bras cheaper! Like $80 bras for $20 or less! I have some from Lane Bryant but they are too small already! I bout my HOT milk ones for $30 when I found them on sale! lol Good luck on whatever you decide!

I'm still wearing nursing bras and Selin is 10-1/2 mos now. When I went back to work after mat leave, I was so excited to go back to my regular bras. After my first day back at work and pumping 3x while there, I quickly realized that the nursing bras were going to be much easier for pumping otherwise I had to take NY whole bra off to pump and that just added more time that I had to make up.

I second Ella's suggestion about MM. I bought my first two from a MM outlet near me. The other two are actually the Gilligan & Omalley brand from Target! They had them on sale for like $12 and I liked it so much, much to my surprise, that I went back and got another!

I was a 38C before PGcy and now I'm a 40D. I would like to go and get properly fitted someday just to make sure I'm wearing the right size.

You are so not alone on this!! :-)

Grace,

Im not just not a crafter/sewer so I'm really afraid of screwing them up. I dont even own a basic mending kit with needles and thread, I just dont know how. Yeah the bras are structured really really well so its very difficult to pull the cup back.

Ash,

Im really hoping that is the case with the solids that he will nurse a bit less which he will obviously. I love nursing but this is one aspect I do not like.

Ella,

Glad you commiserate! There is a MM in the next town, I'll have to think about it. The main issue I have with any bra is the back support which is why I'm so particular. VS bras or bras with thin bands just havent worked for a long time.

Sarah,

I tip my hat to you, truly truly...I cant imagine wearing a nursing bra for that long. It'll be a whole new feeling in 2015 or later for you, I'm sure :)

I think things will change pretty quickly as Maxim gets more into solids. Teddy is so not into nursing anymore all he wants to do is eat what we eat, so I only bf 2- 3 times a day- and have switched to wearing normal bras. Before I just didn't see the point and only wore nursing tops and bras.

Ruby - do you have Motherhood Maternity where you are? Or maybe you could order online... though I know that's not ideal for a bra... but anyway, they have underwire nursing bras that are pretty decent in terms of support and look under clothing, and they are only $19. I have three of them, and I wear them all the time, and while they are definitely not going to be long-lasting, for $19 I don't mind.

I feel for you - I am tired of wearing nursing bras, too! I am considering wearing a regular bra when I'm out of the house and not with Eliza... which isn't very often, but oh well, lol! :)

I've converted some regular bras into nursing bras. It's really not very hard. I probably wouldn't do it on the new bras that you really like, at least not at first, but maybe you could pick up a cheap bra that you don't hate and then try converting it? That way you'll know how it goes and you can decide if you want to do it on a nicer bra, but either way maybe you'll have a bra that falls somewhere in between the bra you love and the icky nursing bras. I wore nursing bras pretty much till James weaned, so I feel your pain. I know towards the end he was going long enough between nursing that I would wear normal bras and then pretty much only nurse him at home. Depending on the cut of the bra I could also sometime get my nipple out without actually removing the bra, but it sounds like that doesn't work in the bra's you have.
