Question about waking to nurse

Lucy usually goes down about 7:30, wakes at 1:30 or so, 4:30 or so, and then about 6:30 for the day.

I'm *thinking* about waking her about 10:30 at night to nurse her before I go to bed in hopes that she'll sleep a little longer and maybe only wake once.

Thoughts? Comments?

How old is she again?

Depending on age, I don't see it as a problem to wake her to nurse before you go to bed. I recall doing this w/ DS. I think he was a month or 2 old at that point.

Z eats anywhere from every 2-4 hours, so if he has eaten at say 8 and it's 10:30, I'll wake him up and try to feed him. Sometimes he'll eat well, sometimes he'll only eat for a few minutes. Either way it gives us at least 2 hours of sleep rather than say him waking up at 11 just as we've fallen into a deep sleep. But it may not give you more than a 5 hour stretch, due to breast milk digesting quickly.

How about doing a "dreamfeed"? I.e. you pick up baby and feed them, but don't actually wake them up for it. I used to just gently get Teddy out of his bed at 11pm, he'd latch on while asleep and get a good 20-30 mins feed in, and then sleep through til morning. I dropped this feed at about 6 months (I think, not sure about the time) when he would just sleep through without the extra feed.

I did do a dreamfeed the other day and he actually did ok. That may do well for Lucy too, thanks:)
