What kind of rollers were your babies?

Teddy (who we call Ted-Theodore BTW, but it's a PITA to type Theodore) has roller exactly 3 times.

Honestly I can't remember what Desmond or Eloise did, but I think they rolled semi-constantly.

Sullivan is a rolling machine, we put him on his back turn around and he is playing on his tummy, turn back around and he has rolled across the room, back, tummy, back, tummy. He rolls all the time, he is much happier now he can roll from tummy to back along with the back to tummy roll though.

Thinking about it I don't think Desmond was much of a roller, I really can't remember what Eloise did at all. I think he rolled fairly infrequently, just not sure how rare it was. Honestly other then checking off the whole, yep the rolled column in my mental file I really don't pay much attention to how much any of mine rolled. I do notice Sully's rolling, but that is more because it is in the now and he rolls so much.

Thank you for the sig Mary

James did not start consistently rolling over both ways until he was really old. Like 7 or 8 months. I was never concerned, because he was crawling a sitting and everything, just not rolling. I think he did each way at least one time prior to 6 months, but I think he just didn't see the point in doing it all the time until later.

David rolled over a couple times at 2 months, and then not again until 5ish months when he started doing it consistently.

I wouldn't worry just yet mama, It sound like Theodore is doing just fine, every kid develops skills at their own pace, and he's still pretty little.

James didn't roll for the first time until he was four months, when he rolled from front to back.

Evan was pretty much the same has Adrienne's James - he started rolling front to back consistently at about 5 months, then back to front at about 6 months. I've heard rolling isn't really even considered a milestone, because it has way more to do with temperament and how they deal with tummy time than physical ability. So, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

And, like Adrienne said, people in PG groups tend to be full of crap! LOL!

Selin rolled back to front at 4 months and I think a month or so after that (would have to check her baby book to confirm), she rolled front to back. She has always been an active baby though and was trying to stand at less than a month old!

Relax mama, Ted-Theodore is doing just fine! Don't compare yourself to the playgroup. ;-)
