Ry update

Thanks for all your responses to the surgery posts, guys!

Ry's doing really well. He's on pain meds and the pain doesn't seem to bother him too much except during diaper changes. Diaper changes are still kind of a nightmare. It's been taking 2 people to change him - 1 to hold him down and try to distract him and the other to do the changing. DH went back to work today, so I'm going to have to do both, yikes.

The only other issues are that he wants to bounce up and down and straddle things, and he's not supposed to do either, and because of the scope of his airways, he sounds like he's in the beginning stages of an asthma attack. This totally freaks me out because I have asthma and it reminds me of having asthma attacks as a kid and how scary they were. It's bizarre, because it's a totally physical reaction for me. Logically, I know that he's fine, but my heart starts pounding and I get all shaky when the wheezing sound gets really bad. Obviously, I have some deep-seated issues, lol.

Anyway, he seems to be recovering pretty well. Thanks again for all the support!
