Wow - thanks for posting those links, Alyssa, those articles are really interesting! I totally guessed/knew this about Eliza but didn't know this was common, or that there was a word for it -- she fits the description of a tension increaser 100%.

Sorry to thread-jack! :)

Ruby - sleep is so hard, isn't it?? I feel for you and can totally commiserate - Eliza has never been a good sleeper and is still waking 2x/night at almost 15 months old. But, that's her personality, I think - she's never been a good sleeper. Now that I think of it, either is her dad, for that matter. So who knows, maybe it's genetic! But, it sounds like Maxim *was* a good sleeper, so you know he has it in him, he just has to get back to it. I hope it's just the 9 month sleep regression hitting and he goes back to sleeping well like Teddy did!!

Thanks Alyssa for the links!! I think he was a tension decreaser but now I'm not sure.

No Ash, he isnt crawling and he doesnt even seem to be interested in it during the day. I put him on his belly and he screams, he has never liked tummy time. At night he is often on his belly and after naps or in the morning he is almost always on his belly so Im sure the crank is turning in his sleep but during the day, he's perfectly content on his butt with some toys.

Ella,

Yeah he was a great sleeper so this is throwing us off...ugh I hope it gets better too. And I hope Eliza gets better for you too...someday, eventually...right?!! LOL!! I do think kids take after their parents on this at times, but other times I think its just temperament too. I know Maxim is like me...he needs his sleep or he is just an absolute bear. I've been that way since I was a baby, sleep or non-functional. My mom used to know too, at any age, even as a teenager...if I was freaking out about something, she would argue a little bit and then a light would go on and she would just say go to bed and come talk to me in the morning, lol. DH on the other hand is like his dad, can survive on a few hours and is a total night owl (and he was a night owl as a baby/little kid too).

Ruby, I totally feel for you!! Fede is totally unpredictable in his sleep habits, but like mxim, if he is tired he is a little monster... All I can say is that you should be flexible, some kids work better with a predictable routine, mine never gave a damn about routine or not... we just play it by ear!
