Only an month later :)
Sloane Delani arrived on July 30th....only 12 days early lol. Here's the short and sweet birth story.
I started having mild contractions on Thursday. Nothing too bad but def there. Then, about 3 Friday morning they started hitting every 10-15 min. I called the dr office first thing that morning to see if they could squeeze me in and see how far I was dialating. We went in about 10 am and I was at a 3 and 80%. So, the dr said it could either take off in 10 minutes or 2 days. Since we live 30 min from our hospital we decided to go walk around Walmart and see if that helped. They didn't get any closer together so we headed home. We were home for maybe 30 min and my contractions started getting about every 5 min apart and pretty significant. We loaded up and headed back over. Got to labor and delivery at about 2:45 pm and got checked and was still at a 3 but was 100% effaced and my bag of water was “right there”. The nurse (who graduated from the same high school as me a yr before I did) went and talked to the dr and he said to go ahead and admit me. The dr came in at about 330 and broke my water. Contractions got really intense about 6:00 and I was pushing at 6:15. Sloane arrived at 7:07 pm weighing 7 lbs 5.5 oz and 21 in long. I got thru the whole thing with no drugs (didn’t even take the pain meds they sent me home with) but did have to have an episiotomy. The dr said he was going to have to make a little room and I just remember saying “MAN!” which everyone got a good chuckle out of lol. My mom and Matt’s mom both ended up staying in the delivery room (I left that decision up to Matt) with us which was really nice. My MIL has all boys and I was glad she got the opportunity to see a grandchild come into the world.
Sloane is an AMAZING baby and looks just like her Daddy. Right after they handed her to me, I said if I hadn’t just pushed her from my body I wouldn’t believe she’s mine cause she looks NOTHING like me :). She is super easy and took to nursing like a champ. She is growing way too fast already and I wish time would slow down a little. Here all this time I wanted time to hurry and now I just wish it wouldn’t pass so quickly.
Well that’s my short and sweet story. I guess it can’t be too long since things went so fast.
