Spotting during PGcy Positive Stories

Hey Guys,

So I've been having spotting off and on the past couple of days (I think it was the stress of visiting my friend so I ended up coming home today).

Anyway, I know it is probably fine since it is mostly brown and/or pink, and it's not very much and all that, but of course I can't help to be worried.

Any of you spot during your PGcies and now have a beautiful baby? I would love to hear your positive outcome stories!!

Hi Adrienne, sorry to hear that you are spotting. I spotted throughout my first trimester with my dd, pratically on a weekly basis. As long as the blood is brown and you don't have any cramping I would try to relax. However, I do recommend that you let your doctor know, they may want you to come in for an U/S (and that always put my mind at rest to see LO heartbeat).

Keep me posted.

Hehe, well I am MUCH more relaxed than I would have been because we just saw the HB on Tuesday. So I've been thinking to myself that the LO is living away in there, but it is still nice to hear some reassurance, KWIM?

I spotted off and on for basically the entire 1st tri, once or twice a week, without fail. At 12 or 13 weeks, it magically stopped. But some women on my EC spotted for their entire pgs and still had beautiful healthy babies!

I know Kristy Lee doesn't come around much anymore, but I remember she went to the hospital a few times for actual bright red, almost AF-like flow, and her little Kaylee was still perfectly fine! I know that's a bit more rare, but it does happen.

Try to relax (easier said than done, I know). I almost had a heart attack each and everytime I had the spotting, but it all turned out okay. :)

Adrienne I did not spot much during my pregnancy either time. However, for a couple of days after my internal ultrasound with Desmond and for a day or two or so after my internal ultrasound with Eloise I spotted. It was mostly brown blood, but I do remember some red blood there that scared me a bit.

I am really hoping that since you saw the heartbeat this is your sticky bean! Spotting during the first trimester is very scary, but also fairly normal.

I had spotting with Gideon around 5 weeks and then had bright red bleeding at 9 weeks. The doctor never did figure out the cause of the bleeding at 9 weeks, but the rest of the pregnancy was pretty normal. My Mom had spotting the entire first trimester with me and I'm fairly normal now;)

I had a little bit of spotting with James. I'm pretty sure my cervix was just irritated. Your cervix is so tender during pregnancy, so it's pretty normal to spot especially after an internal u/s or DTD. Sending lots of sticky vibes your way!!

Adrienne - I obviously don't have my little one yet, but I spotted around 6 weeks or so with this little one and she is doing great! :)

Hope it stops soon. My MW said when I went in for my 10 week appointment that there was just some in my cervix and not even where the baby was so not to worry.

I remember the first time we had sex after I got pregnant was after I saw the dr and my dh asked if it was OK and she said yes. Well, the next day I spotted for awhile. I remember we went to church and I said there and prayed the whole time let the baby be OK and I even called the dr on call since it was a Sunday b/c I was so nervous and freaked out. By Monday it had stopped. So yes I was nervous and I think it is completely normal to be freaked out but obviously my son is here now so everything turned out OK. I hope the same for you. I know a lot of other women who have had spotting through their pregnancy. That was the only time I spotted though.

Adrienne, I had spotting between the 5th and 7th week of pregnancy. Like yours, it was mostly brown or pink, it turned out to be due to a small bleeding of the placenta. I think you should tell you Dr. about is ASAP, they'll probably give you progesterone suplements and/or bed rest to help things out.
Good luck and keep us posted!!!!!
