Sarah - that's great that both kids really seem to love swimming! Elena loved the pool too but now I haven't taken her in about a month. I need to take her back before she forgets how much she liked it! Good luck dealing with both kids solo today.
Julie - my bf's 3.5 yo is totally a fruititarian too! The kid would live on noodles, pancakes, and every fruit under the sun if his mother would let (and she practically does). He HATES vegetables of every kind - even potatoes (I thought every kid at least liked potatoes!) and as far as meat goes will only eat hot dogs and chicken nuggets. His twin sister eats almost everything though, so maybe it's a normal boy thing? I hope
So I don't remember who all wrote what, but I'm pretty sure half of the last replies described Barrett's eating habits :) I definitely also have a fruit-itarian (I've even called him that before!) It's gotten to the point where I always offer him non-fruit foods to eat first otherwise he will just eat fruit and then whine for more (he hasn't quite figured out that 'all gone' means he's not getting anymore of that food).
Barrett is also working on walking, but he is definitely taking his time. He may be the last all our spring babies to walk Today we were in the kiddie part at the pool (1 foot deep) and he was taking a few steps without me holding him but he was really wobbly! His more recent accomplishments are learning to clap and giving kisses (with sound and everything). The last couple days he has been doing a lot of babbling but not many true words. He has told me 'no' a couple times!
Heather- LMAO at Gideon’s bedtime excuses, especially “I need some money.” Hahaha! From your response and from other PP, it sounds like it could be his age combined with the baby being here that has caused him to boycott his bed.
Anna- Your Teddy and my Alex should get together so they can scream “Tac-taah! Tac-taah!” whenever they see one. The way you spelled tractor is exactly the way that I would describe Alex saying it. He likes any kind of farm tractor, bulldozer, etc. He knows what a combine is as well (the machine to harvest corn.) We actually traveled the other day to the town where John Deere tractors are built (they had a museum where you can climb on different tractors.) He was so excited.
Sarah - that's so funny about Eloise being a little girlie girl who loves pink! i do really wonder where it comes from though; these early gender differences?
Kelly - what a cute video! I just watched it with Teddy, who loves YouTube ;-) Elena will be walking in no time! I remember when we bought Teddy a similar walking toy I would run after him all the time because I was so worried he'd crash and fall over. But then he was only 7 mths old then ;-) And hooray for more teeth coming through, I agree they are a nuisance!
Brita - good to see you again :-) I can't believe how many fruititarians there are on this board. Oh, and "no" was Teddy's first word too, apart from Mama and Dada! I think babies like it because it gives them a sense of power and really communicating what they mean.
Julie - too funny that Alex is the same! Boys! I bet he was very excited at the John Deere museum. Teddy is very fortunate, he has a Grandad who owns two old tractors and a digger, so whenever we go there it's like paradise for him :-)
Ella - I still say we might TTC, as DH still has time to change his mind before the next pill pack is due (I'm in the 7 day pill break phase). But if he's still up for it by Sunday, we're on!! It's finally starting to sink in that we might start TTC next week, but I'm still trying not to get too excited just in case...
AFM - as Sarah mentioned this about Eloise picking her clothes - I noticed that Teddy is becoming more and more opinionated and especially wants to wear what HE likes. I won't let him choose all the time though, especially as his favourite shoes are his regular ones, but when it's hot he gets to wear his sandals (and then he brings his other shoes to me and demands to have them put on). Yesterday, when we got ready for nursery, he insisted on wearing his cap; and this morning he grabbed his coat (his hoodie) out of the linen basket and demanded to have it on (all throughout breakfast!). I fear the time of lovely, colour coordinated outfits has come to an end - no doubt he'll soon be sporting T-shirts with tractors on ;-)
Hello. Sorry I haven't posted lately as I've been quite busy and it's going to get busier this week and next.
Well David is still teething. Still no tooth yet. We keep waiting but no luck. I wish he'd get it in I'm sick of him being in pain. Also no luck with the constipation issues either so the pediatrician is giving him a stool softener. We've tried prunes, juice, pears anything we can thing of fruit wise and he's going but he's straining and in pain so the doctor told us to give those. So we'll see if they work. He did sleep through the night on Friday night to Saturday. He slept 8pm to 7am. So I am trying to elminate his 3rd nap and if not then make it so he doesn't sleep past 4pm. Friday he missed his nap and then slept through the night. I think that could be part of the problem. Also trying to move his bedtime up to 8pm so we'll see what happens. the book I got it says they tend to sleep longer with an earlier bedtime. doesn't make sense to me but we'll try it.
We went to Cincinnati yesterday and David went to his first Major League Basetball game. Cincinnati was playing Cleveland so we went to the game since the dates in Cleveland were ones we couldn't go to. My dad has season tickets to the Cleveland games. Then we're going to Columbus on Friday for fireworks and staying at my husband's friends house. They will be in Boston visiting his wife's family but they offered the place so we don't have to kennel the dog. Actually we found out they are having their second child. Their son turned 2 in March. That is the ideal spacing I want with David and our second so hopefully it works out for us too. I had a lot of friends have babies 2 yrs ago and quite a few are now pregnant with their second. Anyway then next Thurs-Sunday we're going to see my family and my husband's in Ohio. We are hoping to visit my friend from high school so she can meet David since I have an extra day. Most times we are so busy with family I don't have time for friends and none of my friends have met him yet. Of course a lot of them do live out of town also.
So it will be a busy time. My husband's birthday was on Saturday and our 8th wedding anniversary is tomorrow. We're not doing much as we can't afford another sitter as we've gone out twice this month. So maybe next year. We'll just stay home and maybe have a nice dinner. I did buy steaks at the store the other day.
I hope all of you are doing well and I hope to do personals soon. It's just been insane.
