Too much weight gain?

I just took Avery in for her 4 month doctor's visit (4 months and 1 week today). The doctor was a little concerned about her weight gain and it just has me feeling terrible! She's 18 pounds and 25 inches long. (Her birth weight was 5 lbs, 15 oz at 35 weeks.) She jumped from the 75th percentile at 2 months to over 95th...She's exclusively breastfed and I've never worried about over or under feeding her until now. She's still up several times a night, and the doctor recommended putting some rice cereal in bottles to help her go longer stretches. I don't really feel that's necessary nor do I want the hassle of bottles. I've always felt confident that I'm doing the right thing and that she's been gaining beautifully but now I feel like I'm doing something wrong. Any words of wisdom? (And yes, I need to update my sig!)

DOesn't that just put her height and weight in the 90th percentile. Gabby is 25.5 inches long too and will be four months on Friday. I honestly don't think it's a big deal, but this is my first. I mean seriously, Wouldn't rice cereal just make her gain more weight, or is the thought that because she could sleep longer she wouldn't need to breast feed and there for would get less food??
Does Avery need to eat every time she gets up in the middle of the night? I ask only because I was always assuming that Gabby needed to eat at night when she fussed. Especially since during the day she was eating every 2 hours or so, but the last 2 weeks or so she has been getting up 1 or 2 hours after she eats and instead of feeding her I have tried just rocking her back to sleep and sometimes she goes back down for 3 + hours and other times she needs to eat. just a thought.
Good luck and I wouldn't worry too much!
Breastfed babies can't be overweight. I wouldn't worry at all. Honestly peds spend so much time worrying about our kids if they don't fit exactly on their growth curve and it's just silly, we're all different and we all grow at different rates. I don't believe you can over-breastfeed, and personally I would not put rice cereal in my childs bottle, I think that's old advice and is really not neccesary. I would go with your insticts on this one, I think you're doing a great job!
Erin,
Although I am not a doctor, I say trust your instincts.

l would take it was a grain of salt and I agree w/ the other posters about BFing babies not being overfed.
She sounds like she is doing great!
Thank you for the sig Mary
Jessica: Yeah, I've recently started just comforting her sometimes in the night and not always feeding her. That in itself may slow her gain down a bit because she wakes up a LOT!
Sarah: I was wondering who Sophie was! :) Very weird. And yes, that did make me feel better!
Thanks everyone for weighing in (haha). I knew I came to the right place. I'll continue trusting my instincts! She's super happy and developing great, so I won't worry about one or two pounds. :)
Erin, clearly that sounds ridiculous. Clearly, I also have no idea what I'm talking about.
Ha, I did notice that the ticker is on an endless loop! Not ready for that kind of announcement yet! :) Hope you're feeling good!!
