Transitioning to whole milk

So at David's 1 year visit today the dr wants to transition to whole milk. But not sure how much milk vs how much formula I should put in. Those of you who have older children maybe could give me a little advice to start since she wasn't really thorough about it and I didn't think about it unitl we got home. I guess I could just start with a little milk and the rest formula or ask one of my other friends who her daughter is 1 and see how she did it.
Yeah, the transition from
Thanks for the help.

Sandy, I just started giving Kaeden straight milk in a bottle, instead of formula. Sometimes he would drink it, but other times, he was not interested at all. I just kept offering it, until he was taking the milk consistently, and then cut off the formula. If he wouldn't drink the milk, I would give him the formula. It only took a few weeks. I will say that he didn't like the milk at first. I guess it was pretty different than the soy formula he was used to.
It was a little different for us since I was nursing when I did the transition, but I just started offering James whole milk in a sippy cup, and then he would get breastmilk from the breast. He started nursing less and less over time and drinking more milk in a cup. I never mixed milks together. If David's still doing bottles, and you want to wean him off of bottles, you might start doing whole milk in a sippy cup and just gradually cut back his amount of formula in a bottle until he's just getting the whole milk in sippy cups. I feel like sometimes the transition is a little easier if they're getting the new milk in a different way. (cup instead of bottle)
