It sounds like you have a great attitude about it Kate, I bet Teddy will figure everything out in his own timing. I know I had a friend with a little boy James' age who seemed really behind at a year, but now at 2.5 you can't really tell the difference between him and James at all. Yay for the state paying for everything. (((hugs)))
Thanks for the update Kate and big (((HUGS))) to you! Please don't feel like you have to have a reason to post in the playgroup. We love hearing from you, no matter what the update! ;-)
Kate- I hope the therapy helps Teddy. I hope though, that he is like my niece and just not have the desire to move too much until 1 yr. Either way I am thinking of you and your family!
(((HUGS))) Kate, it's so hard when you are worried about your baby's development :( Early intervention can really do a lot of good, it's amazing how PT can jump start their progress.
Good to hear an update Kate! Sounds really similar to Elia who just had an eval with a PT too... Muscle tone is there, cautious, unmotivated (perfectly happy to watch rather than do) baby. It's so hard waiting it out, but I've got high hopes we'll both get them there with time- we started the exercises the PT gave us just a week ago and we can already see a difference, so I bet seeing the PT regularly is going to really help Teddy!
Thanks for the update! It sounds like Teddy can really benefit from the early intervention. I hope you feel a bit reassured that he's on track, just cautious and taking his time.
We are in a similar situation over here. Brycen was referred by his pediatrician at his 9 month check up to EIP as well. Yesterday we did the initial paper work and they should be calling anytime now to set up the evaluation.
Brycen is almost 10 months old now, and he still doesn't sit up on his own. That is the main concern here. He doesn't crawl, get up on his knees, or anything like that either.
I am sorry, because I know the feeling that you are going through right now. It is an awful feeling knowing that your baby should be hitting milestones and they just aren't.
Hang in there. Both our boys will be up and moving before we know it, and then we won't be able to slow them down!
Kate- Glad for the update. Sounds like everything is in place for him to do things he just needs the extra assurance/help to know he's got it and good. SOunds like hes very smart which is always an added bonus! Hang in there. You are a great momma and great news about the state should be paying too! Bonus!

Plus at least the muscle tone is there so it will just be helping him to feel a bit more assured when it comes to trying the new physical stuff out.
Thanks for updating - and remember Teddy will hit all those milestones, even if it takes a bit longer :)
