Updates!!

I think we need an updates thread, because I miss hearing about how everyone's babies are doing.

So for us, James is 4 months now!! I can't believe how fast it's going, I was looking at him the other day and wondering where my little baby went, it's crazy how fast they change!

We went for his four month appoint last week, and I was really unhappy with the Dr. so I think we'll be trying to do some insurance adjustments and find another one soon. At this appointment James was 15lbs 14 oz, and 25 in long. Which I think makes him about normal. The new dr. didn't tell me what percentile it is like the old one did.

Has anyone else had a baby that dropped drastically on the percentile chart? Like I'm sure James is doing fine, and he still seems big and healthy and everything, but he's gone from the 93rd% percentile to like the 60th or something.

Anyway, everything is going well, we're still not sleepign through the night, but he does (typically) only wake up once in the middle of the night around 5am, so that has been nice!

James still doesn't roll over, but he's getting very close, and he can tripod sit for a minute or so before he leans too far one way or the other.

How are all the other WTT babies??

So Elena is up to 12 lbs 15 oz! We were guessing about 13 lbs so that's pretty close.

Okay I lied - it IS domperidone - it was just given to me under the brand name Motilium. I'm thinking I won't start taking it until after the weekend though - we have a wedding to go to on Saturday, and Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday (this is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada!), and I am leary of weird side effects.

So over the weekend Patrick started rolling from front to back (on top of back to front). We're in trouble now! He's also getting better at sitting by the day and will tripod sit for most of 30 seconds before falling over now :) He's been much happier recently. I think that learning all of that was a bit intense for him.

I packed up his newborn diapers to go down to the basement this weekend. It was so weird, remembering that those little things fit him just a few months ago, and thinking back to when I first was washing them before his arrival and couldn't imagine what was to come.

I also think we're going to try moving him to sleep in his crib in the next week or so. I think it might improve both his and my sleep. I'm trying to get myself psyched up for it, but I'm still really nervous. And it's hard to think about my little baby moving into his own room!

How's everyone else this week?

Hope everybody had a good weekend :).

We had Ry's 12 mo. check-up yesterday and it went great (that's a first!). He's 19 lbs. and 27 1/4 in. That's small, but he went up from 2nd percentile at 9 months to 5th percentile at 12 months in weight and from 1st to 2nd in height, so he's increased his growth rate. I had a feeling he was going through a growth spurt as he's been really hungry lately.

We go to a group practice and I hadn't seen this ped before, but he was great. He was really good with Ry and much less fixated on the PDQ than one of the other doctors we've seen. He asked a lot of questions about what Ry does on a daily basis both gross motor and fine motor tasks, and he was satisfied with his progress. In fact, he was so satisfied that he said Rylan absolutely does not have hypotonia and to cancel the appointment with the neurologist that the other ped made us set up! I was so happy, because in my Mommy gut I knew nothing was wrong with his muscle development and I thought this was just going to cascade into another set of unnecessary, expensive, and uncomfortable tests. Oh, also, he gave Ry tongue depressors to play with which automatically made Rylan love him for life, haha.

It was so nice to go to an appointment where someone isn't assuming your child is mentally and physically retarded due to a severe neurological or genetic condition just because he's 2 weeks behind on the stinking PDQ! We're definitely seeing this guy again :).

Yay! Finally a doctor who isn't caught up in the stupid charts and actually spends a little time with Rylan to see, "Hey he is doing great, and catching up:)".

I am thrilled that you can finally cancel that appointment with a good conscious and that everything went so well. Way to go Rylan :D

Megan, that's cool that you have found a great new doctor. Ry is doing so well!

Lorien, isn't it amazing how much more trouble they are once they get mobile ;-) But so much more fun too!

AFM, I took Teddy swimming for the firsttime on Monday. I know quite a few of you have already done this, but due to lack of summery weather, plus a shortage of good swimming pools it took me a while to get going! At first he was quite scared - you should have seen the look of panic on his face! But towards the end he really enjoyed it and started doggy paddling :-) We went with a friend and her baby so he kept looking at Jessica for reassurance, which was so sweet. Amazing how much they learn from other babies/children.
As for his feeding I'm offering more milk feeds but very often he won't have them, so I guess I'll just have to see how it goes in that respect with Mr Awkward! His solid eating has become a little better though, I've tried more "whole" fruit which he likes.

Hi everyone! Sorry I've bene MIA for a few days - MIL was in town, plus we had both a wedding and Thanksgiving dinner over the weekend. It's been a little busy!

I've been taking the Motilium for a couple of days now, and yesterday my production went up by 2 oz. Still not enough, but I hope as the days go on this will increase.

Elena seems to absolutely LOVE her grandma (MIL). She is the only one who seems to be able to make her laugh out loud. Like, real "hahahaha" laughing. I've gotten her to make

Yep 4 months is a prime sleep regression age. I didn't actually end up with either Eloise or Desmond regressing then though. Just don't ask me about 6 months *grin*.

As for us, Eloise is really good about sitting up on her own now. I'll look around and see her 10 feet from where she was sitting and happily playing. She also has 3 teeth now with 2 more coming in. She is loving solids and enjoying eating dinner with us. Last night she had pasta with tomato, mushroom and spinach in olive oil. She also really enjoyed Sunday when we went out to Cheesecake Factory with her, while Desmond was at his grandparents. She loved her asparagus, broccoli, corn, asparagus and bread. She is a great eater. She loves playing with food. I will admit DH and I are a lot less cautious this time then we were with Desmond. She is still crawling all over, and standing on anything she can find, she's also climbing a bit, we haven't tried stairs yet though.

We leave for the weekend tomorrow to see my parents and have her baby naming, which should be nice. We get back Monday and then next Thursday we leave for Disney World. It is going to be a busy rest of the month.
