We wean slowly, gently, and according to the child's cues.  So far, we've nursed until age 3, age 4, and going strong at 21 months.  That might sound crazy, but truly, all three stopped frequent feedings at about 18 months.  The rest is just a slow, gradual process toward independence.

Great article!

We stopped "cold turkey" with Fede at it was awful and traumatic. We are trying to do it gently with Julia this time. It doesn't matter if it takes me a few months to do it!
