Well, I had a vaginal birth at hospital. Medicated.
Since I was having abnormal contractions (contracting the cervix instead of dilating it), I ended with an epidural and a bit of pitocin. I don't regret it because the other option would have been a dangerous super long labor. Besides the relief the epidural brought me was wonderful, and I was able to laugh and chat with the medical staff even during the pushing stage! And when Fede came out I was so happy and relaxed and ready to meet him!

After my water broke and several hours of not much progression, I did have some pitocin but other then that it was all natural.

Water broke @ 9:30AM
Pitocin @ 1PM
Pushing started @ 7:30PM
Delivered @ 8:29PM

I have had 2 c-sections. The first was an induction with an epidural. I got to 10cm and pushed for 2+ hours and Gideon didn't move. We decided on a c-section. I had cephalopelvic disproportion. My pelvis is just too small for a vaginal birth. It was not the size of Gideon's head as his head has always been below the 5th percentile. Because of this I made the decision that a VBAC would not be a good option for me. When talking it over with my doctors they agreed with my decision.

Kelly, I do think gas and air still counts as unmed birth!

For me, I had planned and prepared for an unmedicated natural birth and ended up with an emergency c-section and the whole range of drugs.

Similar to Brita's experience, Teddy was posterior, but his head was engaged. Usually babies still manage to turn themselves around during labour (some are even born like that - "star gazers") but I guess due to his size and head circumference Teddy was stuck. He didn't put the right pressure on my cervix and I only got to 5cm before it started closing up again (hence the c-section as Teddy was also getting extremely distressed).
I think if I'd known he was too big to turn I'd have tried to encourage him to disengage beforehand (as it was, I knew he was posterior and just tried the "turn baby around" positions) but then again, can you ever really know these things beforehand??

Next time, if there is a next time, I will try for a natural vaginal birth again but if it's a long labour again, have an epidural rather than gas and air/ pethidine to stay alert and focussed and not be an exhausted wreck by the time baby is born.

I had a vaginal medicated birth. There was no way I was going without drugs and when/if I have another one I will do the same again.

I guess I would vote hospital-vagina-medicated... I was going for an epidural, but they couldn't get it in right (they tried several times).

I voted fully natural because that's what I had this time, but the first two were induced and I had epidurals. I'm so glad I got to experience going into labor on my own and a fully natural birth with my third!

I had an unplanned c-section after an induced, epidural-free (but with some narcotics so I could rest), labor due to a stubborn, sunny-side up (aka facing up towards my stomach instead of my back) baby who wouldn't descend! Just thought I'd specify because there is a whole range of c-sections out there, and I think mine falls into the category of 'might have been avoided if labor hadn't been induced but too late to tell now'
