Thanks! It's good to know it is a possibility to use the crib for naps. :-) We also have a pack-n-play but haven't set it up yet.
Mari - Have you tried swaddling Fede? I know not all babies like it but figure it's worth a shot. We don't have room in our BR for a co-sleeper and DH and I aren't comfortable with having the baby in our bed (nor is our bed big enough) so our little one better like sleeping in her crib otherwise we're in trouble!
Mari - I agree with Christine, you should try swaddling him if you haven't already. Elena refused to sleep in her crib unless she was swaddled. We also had to roll up a couple of receiving blankets and put them on either side of her to help her feel even more snug. A crib is a big place to a little baby! LOL. A lot of people may disagree with me here, but I'm a big fan of getting them into the crib as soon as possible if you don't want to co-sleep for an extended period of time. The older they get, the harder it is to get them to sleep alone because they are so used to having you there all the time.
Christine - I didn't realize your EDD was so close! How exciting that we'll have another WTTG baby soon! Yay!!!
AFM - my Baby Girl is sick for the first time ever! :( Not bad for being 8.5 months old I guess, but I'm still sad. She's had a bit of a runny nose for the past couple of days, but I didn't think much of it because she seemed otherwise fine. But today she was just cranky and whiney in general, from the moment she got out of bed. By noon she had developed a slight fever (99.9) and
Oh Ella, she is such a doll! Isn't it fun when they start getting more interactive? It's so neat to watch their skills developing, and them discovering the world!
Kelly, is Elena better now? It sucks to watch your baby suffering (plus they don't make your life any
I thought I had posted an update the other night, but can't seem to find it. This is my third week back at work and William's 3rd week at day care. He is doing so well- loves being there and it's not as difficult leaving him as I had anticipated. He's always sleeping when I drop him off and often sleeping when I pick him up. I usually get a wonderful report- his only cranky time is when he's hungry and then you better get the bottle quickly (so far, I am able to pump enough for him and haven't had to deplete the freezer supply). He's starting to roll back to front and if he could hold his own weight, he'd be running. His little legs never stop running :) William will be 4 months on the 23rd and has his appt on the 26th. I can't wait to find out how much he now weighs.
Hi Everybody!!! Sorry I've been so MIA lately! I am working two jobs now, which is great for the finances, but I don't see the family much during the week, nor do I have much time for anything else... Anywho I thought I would post a quick update on Kaeden, since I haven't for a while!
Kaeden is now 10 months, and will take 5-6 unaided steps, if you stand him up and get him going. He gets into just about anything he can find, and is now eating like a "big boy". I feed him whatever we eat, unless it's not baby friendly(read frozen pizza). Then he gets chicken nuggets. :) Of course he is still on the bottle as well. He is 28" long(tall) and 21+lbs at last check, so probably more than that now. I can't seem to get him to STTN though, which is a minor source of frustration. He will go to bed and sleep in his own crib until the 4AM feeding, at which time he needs a baba and comes back to bed with me. Where he usually remains for the rest of the night. DH has elbowed him a couple of times, although not in a damaging way, so I really should work a bit harder to get him out of our bed.
Ella - Eliza is just so adorable! I can't get over that mouth. She could rival Angelina Jolie with those lips!
Anna - I hope you all are over the stomach bug soon! Ugh I just hate hate hate being sick. And it's even worse when your little baby is sick. :(
Elyse - you just reminded me of when Elena was much younger - she used to just kick and bicycle her legs all the time when laying on her back. We used to joke that she'd be a great swimmer or kickboxer. I forgot about that until you mentioned that William's legs were always moving. LOL. Glad he doesn't seem to mind daycare too much!
Jan - Great to hear form you! Sounds like Kaeden is doing great. I can't believe
Marianna – We have always loved co-sleeping & do it until the baby is about 2 or so. As long as it works for you guys, there’s no reason not to! Our little ones transition away from us as they’re ready to. I have found a cuddly baby or toddler does wonders for my insomnia, too! Enjoy those baby snuggles!
- Ahh… the NICU thing makes total sense. It’s so great that you’re listening to him & giving him the reassurance that he needs!
