1st Appointment Update

So my first appointment went well.

The doctor we saw had a very uncanny resemblance of a college BF when I first met him 7 years ago, and I am relieved to say his looks have changed since I was PG last and he barely looks like him anymore. DH thought he was wonderful and hopes he's the one to deliver the baby.

I peed in a cup and they confirmed what we already knew, we're having a baby. I showed the DR my FF charts and he agreed that I either Oed very late or very early. So they did a hCG test, which results I will get tomorrow. Depending on my numbers I'll either go for a dating ultrasound next week, or we'll repeat the hCG then do the dating ultrasound.

Later in the afternoon we spent time looking at baby stuff at BRU, thankfully DH is on board for the g-diapers and the moses basket. He kept looking at twin strollers, he says he likes them best, I swear if he jinxes me (OK, I really would love to have twins) ;-).

Oh, and can I just add I think prenatal vitamins are at least twice as big now as they were 7 years ago. Ugh, not easy to swallow.

And the cramping and spotting is normal according to the doctor, depending on my levels we'll take it from there.

All great news, Kate!!

I take Thorne prenatals. They are no bigger than a regular vitamin but you have to take them 3x/day but they don't upset my stomach at all. They were recommended to me by my chiropractor because they are very natural. Here's the link:

I just reordered some the other day and got 2 bottles with the free super saver shipping.

I never heard how you told your DH the news - where is the story posted? :-)

That's great news, Kate!! Let us know as soon as you get your beta numbers!

As for the prenatal, I cut mine in half and take it that way. I don't like the big pills, either.

So glad everything is looking good! It will be nice to have a due date pinned down soon. I had issues swallowing those huge vitamins too. You can always cut them in half!

Christine: No good story to tell on how I told DH, I just walked into his office and handed him a positive test. I had wanted to take him to dinner at his special place of ours, but I couldn't hold out not telling him any longer, it didn't seem right.

So I got my beta results today ~ 3,276. I go Tuesday next week for a dating ultrasound.

Kate - Congrats! I am glad things went well. I take the target generic brand of prenatal vitamines and they are normal pill size. I usually have a problem with Dayquil and these are easy.
