I thought I'd get our little chat group going for the month:). Here are a few questions to get things rolling...

1) Have you told "everyone" in your life that you're pregnant, yet?

2) What's the funniest or most interesting reaction you've received to telling someone?

3) What methods have you found effective for managing m/s or other pregnancy symptoms?

4) Are you having any interesting cravings?

5) What are you most looking forward to this month that's pregnancy related?

6) What are you most looking forward to this month that's *not" pregnancy related?

7) Have you started buying any maternity clothes?

8) Have you bought anything for your baby yet?

yes, and it's wonderful to have it out in the open and not be hiding it!

I'm almost out of the 1T, but these questions looked fun so I had to answer!

1) Have you told "everyone" in your life that you're pregnant, yet?
Nope, just immediate family and a couple close friends. Even my girls don't know yet! But we'll be spilling the beans soon as I'm almost to the 2T.

2) What's the funniest or most interesting reaction you've received to telling someone?
My mom was jumping up and down and sceaming and laughing! It was so funny. She didn't think she was getting any more grandkids (she already has 8)! So it was very exciting for her.

3) What methods have you found effective for managing m/s or other pregnancy symptoms? Getting closer to the 2T!! LOL. I've been taking Unisom and B6 and it doesn't get rid of the nausea, but has kept me from throwing up very much. Also small snacks throughout the day, never letting my stomach get empty.

4) Are you having any interesting cravings?
Yes! Pickled veggies, like the kind they have at Italian restaurants. Anything vinegary. It seems to help my stomach somehow. And pepperoncinis!

5) What are you most looking forward to this month that's pregnancy related?
Getting to the 2T and spilling the beans to everyone.

6) What are you most looking forward to this month that's *not" pregnancy related?
The fall weather, hopefully. And Halloween, it's always fun with the girls.

7) Have you started buying any maternity clothes?
No, I have some, but don't need them yet. I did buy a Be Band though.

8) Have you bought anything for your baby yet?
Nah, too early for me.

Woot Cassie for starting the thread!!

1) Have you told "everyone" in your life that you're pregnant, yet? Everybody but work and facebook friends. So basically family and really close friends.

2) What's the funniest or most interesting reaction you've received to telling someone?

Funniest...the guy at work. He accidentally found out thru a conversation we were having and his jaw dropped. He has been keeping it secret though and he's LOVING it...he loves that nobody else knows, its hilaaaaarious.

3) What methods have you found effective for managing m/s or other pregnancy symptoms?

B6, ginger candies and mints. Also eating more frequently and avoiding high fat/sugary foods. The MS/nausea I've experienced has been really mild and tolerable.

4) Are you having any interesting cravings?
My first bona fide craving last night was tacos! LOL! Otherwise I haven't had any

5) What are you most looking forward to this month that's pregnancy related?

Seeing my midwife on October 14th!!

6) What are you most looking forward to this month that's *not" pregnancy related?

Our 2nd wedding anniversary is on Monday and we're going away this weekend. Lots of training days away from the agency...I need a break from that place. Plus we're having a housewarming party too.

7) Have you started buying any maternity clothes?

Nope

8) Have you bought anything for your baby yet?

I haven't but MIL did, I have no desire or urge at all to buy anything yet.

Thanks Joelle for my siggy!

How are ya'll doing??

I'm doing well. Today was one of those days where I don't feel pregnant at all. Other than a dull ache in my boobs, I have no symptoms. I get waves of nausea but nothing intolerable.

I count myself lucky...or the shoe will drop soon. Hopefully it holds out. I know for some it is reassuring to have some symptoms but I'm grateful so far. I'm still really tired and lethargic and the sore boobs are there, especially at nigh,t so I figure if thats all I get, I'm lucky.

I must say this trimester is craaaaaaawling by! I can't wait until my MW appt on the 14th, its not coming fast enough!! I also can't wait until the 2T when we can all start feeling better and reassured too.

Does anybody have a feeling about the sex of their baby? I'm feeling girl but I'm not sure if thats wishful thinking or intuition. Oh and who amongst the new pregnant are finding out the sex?? I'm so on the fence on this...just not sure what I want to do and DH is no help at all!!

Hello Everyone!!

I'm newly "pregnant" here so my answers to the quiz will be scarce. But I want to reply anyway :)

1) Have you told "everyone" in your life that you're pregnant, yet?

Not yet. We are going to try to hold out until xmas.

2) What's the funniest or most interesting reaction you've received to telling someone? n/a

3) What methods have you found effective for managing m/s or other pregnancy symptoms?

My only symptom right now is that things are tasting way too sweet. Anything sweet, I do NOT want to eat. Yuck.

4) Are you having any interesting cravings?

Not yet.

5) What are you most looking forward to this month that's pregnancy related?

Possibly telling my friend. She will be trying soon and this would by my first RL pregnancy/mother with young child friendship! (all my friends are childless or have much older children)

6) What are you most looking forward to this month that's *not" pregnancy related?

Canadian Thanksgiving!! We get to travel to Seattle to see our newest niece born on Sept 7th. I can't wait to hold her.

7) Have you started buying any maternity clothes?

No, I have lots. Most of them are ugly though so I'll get a few new pieces. Especially now that I know I'll be wearing them a few months AFTER the birth too, LOL. Last time I was too cheap to spend at 4-5mos bc I just thought it was for a few months!

8) Have you bought anything for your baby yet?
Not yet but I have been extensively researching double stroller
options.

I thought I'd drop by to answer my own survey questions:)

1) Have you told "everyone" in your life that you're pregnant, yet?
Nope:). I have only told my mom, a colleague I work very closely with (who I really wanted to be able to tell when I had m/s and couldn't work at 100%), and a good friend who knew we were TTC. I think we'll probably tell my IL's when we see them at Thanksgiving and my dad when we see him at the end of the month. There are a couple more friends who knew we were TTC, so I'll probably tell them

To answer Ruby's question..."Does anybody have a feeling about the sex of their baby?"

Yes, I have had a feeling since BFP day that this is a little boy. I figure this could be one of two things:
1) Mother's Intuition
2) Some part of my mind overcompensating for the fact that we felt going in that we would prefer to have a girl.

If it's the latter, all I can say is that it's working:). Because, since part of me is totally convinced it's a boy, I call the baby "he" and anytime I think of the baby, I picture a little boy. So, I'm falling in love with the idea of a baby boy, and if it does happen to be a girl, it'll kind of be a surprise.

And, yes, we will be finding out the sex as soon as possible - assuming the baby cooperates during the ultrasound! I would like to make the nursury decor somewhat gender specific, and I just love baby clothes that are either ridiculously girly or "all boy."

I think I'm having my first craving...I just realized I have been eating A LOT of hot, spicy food. I LOOOOVVVEEE it. We went to Nando's for lunch and I think I used a quarter of the super hot sauce. I tend to like hot, spicy food but not every day and every meal :)

Do I have any feelings about the sex?

Kind of. Last time, we had the perfect boy name and struggled with the girl name. (we were team green) Then I saw the ultrasound pic and said, "it definitely looks like a boy to me." I was convinced it was a boy after that. Now we have the perfect girl name picked out and haven't even started discussing boy names. This time we have to find out the sex bc I promised DH we would :( He's holding me to it bc he wanted to find out last time and I vetoed him, lol. Good thing too bc now all of our stuff for the first 6 mos is gender neutral and can be used again!
