How is everyone doing? How is everyone feeling?

I am still feeling great but sometimes it is crazy to think that the baby could come in just 8 weeks! We have bought most of the neccesities and the renovations start this coming week so I have a good feeling about everything.

I'm sick of the cold though and am really looking forward to spring:D

Wow, I can't believe that I am in the 3T now. It seems like the 2T just flew by, between everything that was going on. I am sure that the 3T will go just as fast with getting everything ready for the baby. We don't have much for the baby as of yet. We are still waiting for my sister to move out, which should be happening in the next few weeks. I told DH that we need to go and do our registries in the next few weekends. I know my Mom is having a baby shower for us, and DH's Step Dad's family is as well. I can't believe in 3 short months the baby will be here.

Ash- That is so exciting that you the renovations are starting this week for you. Yay for having most of the neccesities for the baby. ITA, bring on Spring. I am sick of the snow and cold already.

Ash, how exciting about the renovations. I hope everything goes smoothly.

Cheryl, yeah for being in the 3T. I hope that your sister moves out soon so you can get started on more baby stuff. :) Have fun doing the registries I have never really gotten to do any other then a little online. No point in making them when no showers are really going to happen

AFM, tonight is my Friday for this round of work. It feels a bit strange knowing that I have 4 more working nights after this then I'll be done till April. Part of me isn't ready to leave. Part of me is terrified about what will happen while I am gone to the areas I am responsible for. They have a support manager taking the areas and this makes me nervous. Hopfully I don't come back to a large mess.

I am still feeling pretty good. I can tell Simon is moving down some. I will have moments where I get pain down in the lady area and I can definatly tell when he is pushing on my cervex. Still not to bad though.

I am not to tired of the cold and for living in the mountains, well valley we have really not gotten much snow. It was snowing this morning and has now turned to rain... so it will be ice I'm sure. Probably get a heavy fall the day/ night Simon decides its time to come.

So DH and I are still undecided on a name for our little girl. I used to wonder how people couldn't think of a name in 9 months but now I know how hard it is!

The only girls name I really LOVE is Sofia. I love how it looks and sounds and it also has family meaning for me - my mom's mom was Sophie and my mom's grandmother was Zofia. Plus it fits the international requirements that DH and I are looking for (something that works in English or Turkish). Even before I got PG, DH and I both loved the name and said we would use it for a girl when the time came.

Well, now DH doesn't want to use it because his BFF's 3 y/o DD (a family we hang out with often) is Sophie and he said it's too similar. I keep asking DH every few months to see if he's changed his mind (most recently was yesterday) but he still doesn't feel comfortable using the name because of his BFF. On a road trip with this family this past summer, DH and I were telling them how we've always loved the name Sofia and the couple said they wouldn't mind at all if we chose that name. It's not like they're related to us anyway.

So my question is (sorry for the novel), where did you get inspiration from for your baby's name?

I have consulted some online sites but the traditional baby books don't really work for us because we want something that can be pronounced in Turkish as well. DH found some Turkish baby name sites but the names are just, well, weird and have no English translation. He is going to Turkey next week and said he will ask his relatives for suggestions and will look for a baby book there.

Ugh, why is this so hard?? I want to love the name we pick, not just pick something for the sake of naming our poor child. :-/

Christine, My mom is stay for almost a month. I think her return ticket it for the first part of Feb.

As for baby names we looked everywhere; online, in movies and books. Don't feel bad we just picked out Simon offically about two weeks ago. I understand how your husband feels. DH and I really liked the name Cole. However, Matt's aunt has a little boy that just turned one and his name is Jessie Cole and it bothered me that he would have a first name of his closest cousin in ages middle name so I vetoed it. Good luck! Hopfully DH can come back from Turkey with some good ideas.

I looked it up and I don't know how all of these would be pronouces but I wanted to give a few. :)

Kamelya - Worth or Value
Melodi
Nevin - young/fresh (DH has a cousin with this name, I always liked it)

Thanks Cassie! That was very sweet of you!

That is wonderful that your mom will be staying for a month. It will be great to have an extra set of helping hands and she will have plenty of time to bond with Simon.

Hope your last few days of work go well. I know what you mean about leaving your job in someone else's hands. My boss said she is going to hire a temp to cover for me while I'm gone but she has yet to even interview anyone. I am the only IT person in my dept. (I work in a non-IT dept.) so my position is pretty critical. I've stopped worrying about it though because I've already given her a list of all my duties so if she doesn't find someone in time, at least she'll know what I was responsible for.

AFM - I think my DH is nesting, big time. He keeps bugging me to go through the stuff from our baby shower so we can put it in the nursery. It has been sitting in our garage since Nov. and actually we should get it out of there because today was in the single digits (BRRR!!). We did go to BRU today and bought the mattress and a mattress pad. I still need to get baby detergent so I can start washing everything. A friend at work told me to run my washer empty first to rinse out the other detergent and then run the load of baby stuff. Has anyone else done this?

Christine, I really like Nevin. :) thats just my two cents on it.

Actually we are still using our normal detergent just using less of it for the baby clothes and stuff. I know some people say you should use something like Dreft but I have also been told its a waste of money to get that. I have heard just getting the free and clear stuff work just as well or just using less of your normal stuff. I have a mix similar to what Noel uses and she has not had any problems with it so I am not going to spend big bucks on detergent for baby. If baby starts to show a reaction then I'll rethink that but until then I'm sticking with what I have.

Working wise I am going from being over nights to the Fresh areas of the store which is a big on since it is food and all the legal and other issues that come with it. That and I am very picky about my people items such as attendance so just leaving that up in the air for someone else is really hard for me.

What is Noel's detergent mix? We don't currently have the free and clear stuff, just use regular Tide, but if we don't have to buy specialty baby detergent, that would be great!

I like Nevin too, but we were trying to stay away from 'N' names since DH and his sister's names both start with N. I also like Chloe/Khloe (DH is not sure) and DH likes Selin (Turkish for Celine) but I don't want to use the Turkish spelling if we're going to use it for a first name because I think people would say "seh-lynn" or "see-lynn". One of his friends here actually suggested that name so I guess it does help to ask others!

Cassie- My sister just let me know that January 15th they will be moving out! I am super excited about that. Today they spent a lot of time going through all of their stuff that they have here. I can't wait to get started on the baby's room. I am glad that you are feeling decent still.

Christine-I have already started putting some things here and there on the registry online. I am hoping that when we do go to the store to register that we don't get worn out to fast, if not we will just have to finish things up online. I did the same thing with our bridal registry. Your DH sounds like me, I am so antsy to get everything done.

When Kevin and I first started talking about names, the one thing we both said is that we wanted a name that wasn't used yet in our family (meaning couisns, aunts, uncles) which is a task in itself because Kevin's Dad has 10 siblings, and my Mom has 12. From there every time I heard a name that I liked I would write it down and run it by him. I think we started talking about names even before I was pregnant.

AFM- I finally took my 27 week belly picture last night. I think that my last belly picture was taken at 21 weeks. I can't believe how fast the time is going by. I think having the holidays to get ready for had a lot to do with it.

My sister finally gave me the word today that she will be moving out on January 15th. I am super excited about that. I can't wait to get the nursery in order, start painting, buy the crib...the list goes on and on.

Christine, I think she uses soap shavings with borax. We have a mix of borax and arm and hamer baking soda detergent powder. I would just use your tide if you and DH don't seem to have isses with it. Just use less. I know it says to use less detergent ( like 1/4) on cloth diapers so thats what we are doing with clothes to. Oh and I like Chloe.

Cheryl, yeah for a move out date!!
