3rd Trimester Chat Nov-Dec
40
Sat, 11-28-2009 - 5:06pm

Well there are enough ladies transitioning that we should be able to keep a 3T chat thread going now. AS soon as Christine gets a few more days in we'll be up to 6. Hopefully by the time Sandy graduates we'll have more coming in too.

Me, I'm feeling very ready to be done being PG. I'm still trying to enjoy it while it lasts, but it gets pretty difficult at this point. My belly is so huge & heavy that just rolling over in bed is a chore! Ugg! My children refuse to pick things up off of the floor for me when they're being nasty... can you believe that!? LOL! Fortunately I'm not too bad off. My back is better today, though I'm still avoiding the dishes.

DH hasn't met any of the M/W's & I asked if he'd want to come to my 40 wk appt, but he says he's fine just meeting them in the hospital. I'm sure he's thinking of saving time off for after baby comes, but it seems like he really 'should' meet them. I guess it doesn't matter since there are 4 M/W's & he would only get to meet one, most likely, at an appt. What do you think? Does it matter?

Noel,

Thanks for starting this thread! I'm officially 28w today so I can join now. :-)

As for your DH meeting the MW's,

Noel, You are so close! I am sure you are ready to meet your little boy. As for DH, mine has been to almost every appointment so he has met my OB. I could see where your DH doesn't want to go to save time and considering there are one of four MW that could be there when LO shows.

Christine, welcome to the 3T!

AFM, nothing to exciting here to report. Just working one day at

Christine – Whoohoo! Welcome to the 3T! Yes, even enjoyable things can be exhausting at this point. I find there are certain times of day where I’m more likely to run out of energy, but also doing anything for too long without a rest break will do it. Maybe try to separate your grocery trips & have something restful in between? I’m sure your DH will feel baby move soon, if he can be patient enough! You do have to hang out & wait for it. Sometimes watching TV together in the evening & DH having his hand on the bump is a good way to go.

Lora – Aren’t you amazing not getting all grumped out about spending half your day at the hospital getting poked & prodded! It is nice that you are getting to know everyone. Maybe labor will go better since you’re getting so comfortable there. When you said, “m/w ordered me to rest as much as possible when DH was in the room” at first I thought, now why just when her DH is in the room?? Be cause he can do more stuff for her?... OH! I get it! LOL! Resting isn’t so bad. Get some books & some movies & enjoy your last rest for years to come!!

Hello ladies!!! I'm glad NOel decided to resucitate the thread!

I think I exposed too much of my 3T grumbles in a recent thread, so I won't bore you with that again ;)

I do want to ask something though... Yesterday night I had an "episode" that really scared me. I think the baby tried to place his head inside my pubic bones or something, because I started to have this really strong pelvic pain, and then every movent that he made hurt. To make things worse, it was a really long day, we ended up in

Marianna – Love the siggy! It’s beautiful! J It could be that baby is dropping down already. It can pinch things & press on things very uncomfortably when they do this. I’d think it’s a bit on the early side, but anything is possible. As for the pains, the BH do tend to get stronger later on & may have been made more intense by baby’s new pelvic pressing position. Definitely talk to the Doc abt it. It’s great that things eased up with resting. Sometimes we get the message to rest more in these strange ways. If you have your hospital bags packed, then you’re ahead of me. I can’t seem to get there through the rest of my mess just now!

Thanks ladies for the welcome! I still can't believe I'm in the 3T already!

Cassie - I hope that work will get easier for you in the next month. How did your U/S go this week? My DH keeps asking me how much I weigh and I keep telling him "that's between me and the scale!" LOL

Lora - You are getting so close! I haven't checked the general PG thread yet so hopefully you haven't had her already, but sending you *smooth labor vibes*! Glad to hear Lily is looking great and I hope your BP stays low so you won't have to be induced. I'm guessing since you're on bedrest that you are on mat. leave from work now?

Noel - Sorry again about testing positive for GBS. I really hope the hospital lets your kids visit the new baby! Dreams? Oh yes, mine have been quite weird! I've had one almost every night and they're usually about me worrying about something and everyone else in the dream being oblivious to whatever I'm worrying about so it must be some anxiety going on. I still have two months to go and feel like I don't have enough time left! Just to what's really essential and delegate the rest!

Mari - I'm no help with the pelvic pain but I agree with Noel that if you think it's something unusual, give your doc a call. So sorry to hear about your friend's mom.

AFM - My boss officially approved my mat. leave today! I'm so excited that I'm one step closer to being out of there. I can take up to 6 months (partially paid) but the economy and DH's job will determine when I go back to work or if I

shristine -Your siggy is lovely! How great to have your Mat. leave all set up! I hope it works out for you to stay home as long as you want & do your student teaching in the fall! Is your tree artificial? I'm thinking so bc of the airing out. I actually have really enjoyed our artificial tree
