Hey ladies, just wanted to give an update -

I had some pretty significant cramping last night which scared the heck out of me. I had a loss around this far along last time, which started with cramping, so I was worried. I had an appt. anyway early this morning for a blood draw (for the second part of the sequential screen), so the midwife also did a full internal exam & took cultures & urine. Everything looked good so far. I also had an u/s to check my cervix (it's still closed/tight, no change from last Friday) and to check the baby. That all looked good too. One bit of news - I have a cervical polyp. It's not really a cause for concern, but it is probably why I bleed easily (after sex, dancing, etc.), so it was nice to finally have an answer there. I saw the doctor after the u/s and he wants me to start coming in every two weeks from here on out for cervical length ultrasounds to monitor me. I'm pretty happy about that. Every check gives me peace of mind, you know?

The good news? It's a BOY!!

The techs aren't really supposed to say anything before 16 weeks, but I'm 15w3d now (and 16w1d based on lmp), plus she saw his penis really well 4-5 times. So she was like, don't buy anything yet.....but I'm 97% sure it's a boy! We got a picture of his little turtle head and all. Hahaha. I'm so, so, SO excited. I really didn't care either way about the gender, especially after my loss, but now that I know it's a boy it feels like that must be what I wanted all along. We're thrilled. My husband is strutting around like a rooster & my dad is already talking about training the kid to be their "4th" (my dad, bro and dh play a lot of golf.)

Just really exciting all around. I'm still worried, but trying to relax and just enjoy the good news.
