well, DH called his parents and his grandparents earlier today, and i talked to my parents this evening. i told them separately, because my stepdad was in the shower when i told my mom. they both said the same thing at first..."you just bought a house, are sure this is smart?" lol. well, i guess my mom said "already??" before saying that, but whatever. i gave them both the same assurances about our financial planning skills, and they both seemed ok with it after that. i also told my sister and my gramma. it feels good to have it out in the open now.

now, a few more weeks and i can spill the beans in general at work. as of right now, only my immediate supervisor, the CEO, the HR lady, and my ONE friend at work know.

Hi Carly,

I'm glad it wasn't as bad of a reaction as you were expecting!! I imagine with time they'll grow to really love the idea of becoming grandparents and not question you as much about your decisions! Good luck telling work in a few weeks!

Thanks Katie for my siggy!

Yay:) It sounds like there are just concerned and surprised. I think keeping the secret is horribly stressful. I know I'm not sleeping well keeping it a secret.

I'm glad it went decently :) It sounds like once you explained that you can handle it, they were more on board. They'll start getting super excited now that they know your plans!

Carly - What a relief that this went better than you expected. I'm relieved for you:). I'd still find it slightly annoying that they said "are you sure this is the best time", but people's first reactions to things can be stupid. As everyone else has said, I'm sure once the news starts to sink in, they will get more and more excited about welcoming their grandchild:).

Carly,

I can imagine how relieved you must feel and it sounds like your parents took the news better than you expected? I know I felt better once it was out of the open because it was getting hard to remember who I told and who was still in the dark.

Carly,

I was SO happy to see a smiley face next to this post from you! I knew you were worried. I'm really glad your parents took it okay and weren't (too) critical. You must be really relieved! Yay!
