Hi guys! I haven't been around in awhile--chasing a stair-climbing, dog-bowl obsessed 11-month-old will keep you busy. As you can see from the subject, I got a BFP yesterday! I'm still in mild shock. Here's the scoop...
So DH and I hadn't been preventing, but I still hadn't seen AF since Avery was born so we were getting a little antsy about kickstarting my fertility. I didn't want to wean her in order to get started TTC, so I just started switching up my nursing schedule a bit, giving her expressed milk sometimes during the day to skip a feeding here or there. Probably also helped that she is sleeping much more awesomely at night, too.
I'd been testing every couple of weeks starting a couple of months ago just to make sure I don't end up on one of those I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant shows. Well, a couple of weeks ago I had a patch of EWCM, coupled with a 3-day migraine, so I kinda figured my hormones were doing something, so we DTD. So on Thursday I was rocking Avery before her afternoon nap and I practically rocked myself to sleep. I thought it was a little weird, I mean, I'm always a little tired but I actually had to lie down for 10 minutes and force myself to get back up. So on Friday the same thing happened--I just couldn't keep my eyes open in the glider. After I napped for a few minutes, I got up and decided to test. Glad I had the ICs and kept my pee because while I somehow just knew I was PG, I was still shocked and had to do another test.
Here's one from this morning for interested parties: http://i687.photobucket.com/albums/vv236/erinkw/2011-07-2311-03-42673.jpg
I just stood there staring at the test yesterday, a mix of excited, how-will-I-manage, and a little fear (if you remember, my lightening speed, 5 weeks early delivery with Avery has me a little traumatized and afraid that I'll deliver in the car next time). It was brutal waiting for my husband to get home from work and he actually called saying he had to stay a little late, but it was so worth it when he got home. I just said I had something to show him and handed over the test. He grabbed my shoulders and was like "YOU'RE PREGNANT!??" He was very excited. I'm experiencing all of the nervous, excited, hoping for a healthy pregnancy feelings of early pregnancy. Mostly I'm feeling extremely lucky and blessed. :)
I figure I'll call the doctor on Monday...not sure how they'll date me at this point, but I figure I must be due toward the end of March? I tested June 25 with a negative, a couple of weeks after that negative, and now a positive, so I can't be very far along.
Also hilarious: I just reactivated my FF account on Wednesday.
