So I've been spending time looking at due date calculators, etc trying to figure out when bean could be due. And then I found this calculator that shows approximate conception dates as well and length of luteal phase etc. So after obsessing on this for about an hour I have decided I have either a very long or a very short luteal phase.

DH and I didn't DTD for the 6 days right in the middle of my cycle. But if I enter the extremes (9 or 16) for a luteal phase I end up with conception dates on dates we DTD. (Yes, I know obsessive.)

But I think I could be on to something there... it took 6 months to TTC DS, and XH and I always timed it for the 4 days within the middle of my cycle.

I am hoping for the shorter luteal phase as that puts my EDD at the end of Feb, which would be nice and give some breathing room between birthday (DS is 1/31). A longer luteal phase gives in an EDD of 2/14, which was DS's EDD (strange right?).

If I had to guess I would guess to the earlier EDD because that pregnancy test wasn't just positive, it was POSITIVE. The positive line showed up before the baseline line did. I've never had a PG test like that (DS's was very very faint).

Oh well, I guess I'll just go w/ the flow, I am sure my doctor's office will give me 2 or 3 EDDs like last time, and baby will come when they're ready.

CONGRATULATIONS. Unless you were going through fertility treatments, the doc probably isn't worried about your luteal phase and will use your last menstrual period and dating ultrasound.

Okay - I was *so* confused. I wasn't sure what you were asking, but I see in the TTC thread that you got a BFP!! Congrats!! That's wonderful news!!

I'd just guess the earlier EDD for now (your doctor will probably just go from the first day of your last period anyway), and then you can get a more accurate date when you get an u/s.

Before Jensen my luteal phase was 10-12 days, mostly 10, and I ovulated on CD 18. That very well could have been the reason it took so long for you to get pregnant. Very few women actually ovulate on CD 14, although it's possible since that's how Jensen happened lol.

Kate, since your LP is a constant from one cycle to the next, I think it would be worth it to temp for a cycle and see when you ovulate. Do you track CM at all? I think that is a really accurate way to tell, too, but how we interpret the CM is rather subjective, so temping really is the best way to know for sure.

IDK about you guys but we normally don't DTD that much--I really wanted to know my fertile days so we wouldn't be worn out by O time. KUP on what you end up doing!

Sounds like you're not exactly sure of your ovulation date. I will say it's possible to get pregnant even if you don't DTD for up to a week before ovulation. I have a friend who got pregnant only DTD literally one time at 7 days before she ovulated. I think you should get a pretty accurate dating ultrasound soon and go off that. It's possible that you could have ovulated any time after that first time that you DTD and anytime between those 6 days and still caught the egg.
