EDD Vs. Reality?

I know we've had a thread like this in the past, but we've had a lot of babies in the past few months so I thought we could do another survey :)

What was your EDD?

When did you actually deliver your baby?

Did you have a feeling your baby was going to be early/late?

Jensen was due 1/9/10 and I went into labor 1/8/10 and had him at 2 am 1/9/10. I thought he would be late because he would was my first, but then I started dilating so fast so they said he'd be there by xmas and I'd never make it to January. My midwife has a theory that it's based on how long your monthly cycles are. If you have longer cycles your bound to stay pregnant longer, or if you have shorter cycles you would deliver on time or earlier. This is not an exact science as everyone is different but I had 29 day cycles so for me it was pretty much true.

What was your EDD? According to ovulation, May 25, according to early dating u/s May 20th

When did you actually deliver your baby? May 29th

Did you have a feeling your baby was going to be early/late? I felt like it would be late because it was my first and because of the due date discrepancy. I was right!

Did you have a feeling your baby was going to be early/late? I just knew she'd be early. But I was thinking a week or two early, not five. :)

What was your EDD? 2/14/04

When did you actually deliver your baby? 1/31/04

Did you have a feeling your baby was going to be early/late? I thought he was going to be late, and so did everyone else... all I heard is "you haven't dropped yet", etc... even my OB was like, "Ok see you next week."... and he showed up the next day.

What was your EDD? 8/10

When did you actually deliver your baby? 8/17

Did you have a feeling your baby was going to be early/late? I pretty much knew I was going to go late. I was hoping early, but knew it wouldn't be on time. With my diabetes and being a first time mom we knew it would be late. Not sure if it would have been later than the 17th since we started the induction on the 16th, but you never know.

EDD May 25th

Birthday May 11 exactly 2 weeks early at 38 weeks

I expected...well whatever to be honest. I dont think I really cared or had an intuition either way. My mom was early with me by 2 weeks as well (we had the same due date and I was born the 8th) us and 4 days late with my brother. Grandma was late with her boys, early with her girls....so meh. I also never went into labor on my own or had a natural contraction...if my water hadnt broke (still dont know why) I think he would have been born later. I was a 0 cm/0 effaced when I was first admitted. My DH didnt think he would be born until June so he was very much shocked.

What was your EDD? April 23 or 24 depending on the dr :)

When did you actually deliver your baby? May 2 (I was induced on the 1st)

Did you have a feeling your baby was going to be early/late? I was actually kind of hoping he wouldn't come early so I could get paid through the end of the school year. Once I got closer to my due date it seemed pretty obvious that Barrett was in no rush - I was carrying really high until right around his due date. I think if I hadn't needed to be induced I would have gone into labor close to 42 weeks - I was finally having some signs of upcoming labor that last week :)

As for the length of your cycle theory, that really didn't work for me! My cycles have always been on the short side (25-28 days), and Barrett did not come early.

What was your EDD? April 8 and March 8th or 16th depending on O date or ultrasound

When did you actually deliver your baby? April 5, March 14

Did you have a feeling your baby was going to be early/late? Neither really, Desmond was induced, but I got the feeling he wasn't quite ready to come out, wish we had waited a bit longer, but they induced because I had borderline GD and he was supposedly measuring large (he was average). I was hoping Eloise would be a bit early, because I was so done with prodromal labor by that point in time, but she came pretty close to her due date, I was hoping she didn't go too late since she was a VBAC and my practice requires a c-section after 41 weeks with a VBAC.
