Jen,

Congratulations on your little girl. The u/s pictures are great. At least you know why you haven't been feeling her move a ton lately. I try and keep up with the thread as best as I can :)

Happy New Year to everyone! Trying to catch up on the end of the Dec. posts, I’ll just say what I remember…

Cheryl- The nursery color was called “asparagus,” I believe. Kind of an avocado color, really.

Christine- P & PT to your friend from your EC. God bless that little angel.

Dee- You’re talking about tailbone pain, yes? When I get up in the morning I have pain in the pubic symphysis bone (that joins the two hip bones) They say it’s common in subsequent pgcies but I also think it is because I’m packing on the pounds. I’m up 23 lbs at 26 weeks. I try not to worry, but it bothers me too, like good Lord, how many more lbs will it be?

Jen- Congrats on your little girl! Love the u/s pics. ☺

AFM- DH and I had a good New Year’s, just hanging out watching movies and TV until midnight while of course DS was sleeping. BTW, DS is still adjusting to the toddler bed in his new room. :-P He’s been getting out of the bed and standing in the doorway of his room (where I luckily put a gate!) and I have to keep saying “lay down, night-night.” Ugh, I know this too shall pass, but it tests your patience big time.

The other day DS was at grandma’s so I busied myself with organizing the nursery… piece of cake the 2nd time around! I already put the newborn onesies, sleepers, gowns and things in the dresser. All there is to do is raise the crib mattress back up, put the mobile back on, etc. Then stuff like dig out the pack-n-play and swing and set it up. This little guy stays busy kicking me and rolling around in there... just yesterday DH saw my shirt move as he kicked, LOL.

Jen - Congrats on your little girl! The pictures are amazing!! I believe I have an anterior placenta as well and didn't really feel definitive movements until I was about 23 weeks. Just remember that every woman is different and some women will feel movement earlier/later than others.

Ash - Hope you won't be gone for too long! We'll miss you!!

Cheryl - You had mentioned in the Dec. thread about being tired. Are you still going for chiropractic? Make sure to keep yourself well hydrated as well. I would mention it to your doc at your next visit if you don't feel any sense of renewed energy after a good night's sleep.

Julie - Wow, you're really on a roll with the nursery! That is too cute about Alex standing in his doorway but with time and consistency, he'll get the hang of his big boy bed.

AFM - Our NYE was pretty low-key. We went to my in-laws for dinner last night and came home around 9pm because we were both tired (both had to work yesterday). I went to bed around 10pm and DH shortly thereafter so neither of us made it till midnight. My evil SIL and I didn't speak a word to one another and no one seemed to notice so I was glad it went relatively well. In fact, DH's brother talked to me a lot, which I found interesting, so I guess he's trying to keep the peace, even though his wife hates my guts.

Today we did lots of stuff around the house - DH assembled the dresser and I took down our tree and decorations - then we headed to my parents' house for a delicious dinner. My mom is getting really excited. She is already a grandma to my step-brother's two children but since I'm her only biological child, I think this time it is different for her. We're planning to buy the crib mattress and start washing the clothes this weekend. I'm also thinking of hitting a Carter's outlet near us next weekend while DH is out of town.

I am feeling more round and big as my insides are getting more and more compact.

Julie - How cute with him standing at the door. I know my friend was dealing with that with her little girl and she just keeps putting her back in the bed and eventually Alana got used to it. Good Luck! how exciting to be getting the nursery all together.

Christine - I am glad you had a good new years despite your SIL being there. At least if she won't speak to you she isn't yelling or anything :)

AFM - We had a good NYE. We had a party and only 4 people came (my Aunt, Uncle and DH's Friend from work and her boyfriend). It was nice though only having a few people. My Aunt brought over her Wii remotes and we played Wii all night and had an awesome awesome time. DH made some Cheese Fondue - he loved it, the rest of us, not so much. But the Chocolate Fondue was great. Then yesterday we went to my parents house and hung out with them. My Dad is super excited about the baby. He was joking around last night that didn't I know that pregnant women can't eat Mashed Potatoes (I LOVE them). it was pretty cute. Today we are trying to survive the cold. I really want to go out and get some yarn for a blanket for the baby today and start that because it takes me forever. But it's -15 degrees this morning with a -28 windchill...so not sure if I want to venture out yet.

Amber - We must have cross-posted. Welcome! :) I am super excited for you to have your BFP! You will have to post the U/S when you have it. My first appt with my midwife is on the 11th of January, so right before you.

Amber - So great to have you here! Congrats again! I remember chatting with you back when I first joined in '08, probably right around the same time as you. Do you have a fun way to tell your parents the news?

Jessica - Why can't PG women eat mashed potatoes? Or maybe I read your post wrong?
