Adrienne - The breast feeding class was okay. The teacher mainly showed a video and then we "practiced" some positions for feeding, and talked a little but that was about it. Worth the information, but not the money I guess...

AFM - My Aunt is doing better. My parents neurosurgeon saw her today - still waiting for an update from my dad. but she is joking around and wants to get out of bed, so that's good. She is getting some feeling back in her left arm, which is even better, just have to figure out the aneurysms. I guess the one she had clipped off years ago is leaking, so I am sure they will have to do some surgery soon.

DH and I had a date night tonight. I was a little worried about the meal since it was cheese ravoli and sauce, and I was high at lunch today (I think it was the granola bar I had at 10:30. But I measured out the ravoli, and the sauce. and in the sauce we put turkey sausage, peppers and onions. and it was really good! We played on the Wii (I kicked his butt in Frisbee Golf) and then tested an hour later and I was 111!! I was so so excited! First time in four days that my sugar level was down at dinner time. and what's even better is it means that only one of my sugar levels has been high every day. :)

Tomorrow is a shower at my mom's house! I am super excited about it. I am pretty sure we are getting our mattress, it's the one big thing on our registry at babies R us and we gave them a coupon that my mom was going to use, so Sunday I will be able to put the mattress in her crib! pretty exciting!

I Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

Adrienne- My friend goes to holistic dr. for herself and her kids. Maybe you could find something like that there? I actually tried to get James with him, but he wasn't accepting new patients.

I stop laying on my back really early, the idea of passing out and not waking up in my sleep is just kind of terrifying for me, plus I rarely sleep on my back anyway. I sleep on my belly until mu uterus moves up to high and it gets uncomfortable.

Kass- I got butt strech marks first too. I'm sorry to say it, but I ended up with a good number of stomach ones as well. They're still there, but they've lightened up quite a bit I think. The things we do for our children ;-)

Jess- I had the same experience with a BFing class, I don't really feel like they taught me anything I hadn't read in a book already. They asked people if they had questions and then they never really addressed the questions people asked. Kind of a waste of time/money IMO.

Kim- I'm still hoping girl for you... and for me! I really don't care actually, but there are a few things about this pregnancy that are different and are making me wonder. Like I have way more pimples than with James, and my hair is nasty and greasy...

I know I'm missing a ton of people. I promise to try and do better with personals in the future.

AFM- I'm doing pretty well, I'm still having m/s but it's getting more manageable. I'm 10 weeks today (didn't adjust my ticker) and that feels like a real milestone (double digits!) It's feeling more real by the day, and it seems to be going really fast. I find myself remembering things about from when James was born and getting really excited for the new baby. Currently I'm really looking forward to the 2nd trimester when I can (hopefully) eat without feeling sick again.

I love reading all of your updates!!

Hi all!! I've been reading, but my internet connections while traveling were not good enough to be able to post.

Adrienne – thanks for starting this! YAY for the big reveal coming up soon!! I’m so excited to see what you’re having.

OMG about Tonio’s tongue! The poor kitty :(

I find that when I bend over I feel like there is a hard ball in the way too. I guess we’re getting to that point. I also read that you shouldn’t lie on your back, but I love sleeping on my back. I’ve heard that you will just naturally change positions though if it starts to bother you – or you’ll wake up because it’s so uncomfortable. I figure if I sleep at a bit of an angle (like with a wedge under my head/shoulders) that should be okay too.

Jess – glad that you’re liking your dietitian and it sounds like you’re doing well with the diet so far and that DH is able to help. I haven’t started looking at pediatricians yet, but was told to start doing so soon since they are pretty hard to get in with around here (apparently any doctor is!).

Yay for your 30 week appointment! Holy – I can’t believe you’re at 30 weeks! I’m so sorry to hear about your aunt. Sending her lots of positive thoughts. I’m glad she’s feeling better.

Have fun at your shower!

Kim – glad your first u/s went well! Too bad that you’ll be away at 18 weeks :(

Kass – how did your 3D u/s go? Good luck getting started on the nursery!

Liz – yay for your appointment going well and gaining some weight! Your nursery ideas sound so nice! Love the u/s picture!

Grace – I’m glad your m/s is getting a bit better now.

AFM – apparently I do NOT travel well while PG! I won’t vent about it here, but you can go read about it on my blog if you want! LOL! I feel like my belly has definitely grown in the last week – all of a sudden people I don’t even know are asking me when I’m due. So, it must be pretty obvious to others.

Our big reveal u/s is scheduled for July 3rd! I’ll be 19 1/2 weeks, so we should get a really good look at Baby G. Then we can decide on nursery stuff and get that started. So excited!

Liz--Your little one is really cute--what a great picture of his/her face!!

About Tonio: "I guess it's good practice for a little one, right?" I think it definitely is! Except that we can just stick him in a cage between feedings, LOL! So a baby will probably be even more complicated. ;-)

Jess--Yeah I think BFing classes are an awesome idea, especially for Moms that don't really go learn about it on their own. I don't think I would take a class though because I've done SOOOO much research on it and watched SO many youtube videos on how to recognize a correct latch, different positions, etc, that I think a class would probably be repetitive for me.

I'm glad your aunt seems to be feeling better!

It sounds like you are doing a really good job watching what you eat and using exercise to help you manage your blood sugar. WTG girl!

That is so fun about your shower! I can't wait to hear how it goes!! How exciting about getting the mattress, too, I bet it will feel awesome to have one more thing done on the nursery!

Grace--Nice to "see" you on here! I'm glad you are starting to feel a little better and are feeling hopeful for a girl. :-) I'm so excited that you are so far along! It seems like time is just flying by.

In terms of sleeping, (normally) I alternate between my stomach, back, and sides (fetal position), but now, I really can't lay on my stomach anymore, it definitely feels weird/uncomfortable, and I don't really like the fetal position either because my thighs press on my belly and it just feels weird to me. So now, most often I either lay on my back, or like on my stomach/side with one leg up so that my belly isn't squished. So if the back laying was totally forbidden, I would only have one position that was comfy. :-/

Alyssa--I'm sorry you didn't have fun while you were traveling. :-( At least now you know, and you can hopefully minimize travel from here on out. If you ever are totally out of the woods morning sickness-wise, it might be easier then, too.

I'm so jealous you have your big reveal u/s scheduled! We meet with the midwife on Thursday, so hopefully we'll know on Friday when our appt is (and hopefully it is the week after that)!

Jennifer--I also can't believe you are getting so close! Eeek! That is really nice that you are getting all the last minute things, :-) I think that is a great idea about going to Costco before the baby is born so you don't have to worry about shopping for awhile. We might have to do something similar.

I hear you on working. I am actually so grateful that I lost my job before getting pregnant so I can just focus on this and not worry about working. I guess I'm spoiled but oh well.

AFM--Poor James and I are both feeling crazy and overwhelmed, but trying to get some things done this weekend to combat the feeling. I have felt SOO tired the last couple days, I don't know if it is just stress from the house and cat or what, but it is not fun. Hopefully I will feel better soon.

Anyway, I'm off to make split pea soup.

My OB told me that I had to stop laying on my back at 20 weeks. This time around though I was still finding myself laying on my back at times even at the end. If the uterus compresses the inferior vena cava, you'll feel it in your legs and move, thus not really causing problems with the baby.

Hey ladies! Sorry no personals. I am totally exhausted. DH and I made an awesome dinner on Friday - Ravoli, w/spaghetti sauce, peppers, onions and turkey sausage and then we walked and played on the Wii and my sugar was like a 111. It was awesome!

Saturday we had a wonderful morning in and then headed to my parents (they are an hour away) for the shower. Stopped to see some friends and then got ready for the party. It was non stop from noon yesterday until just now (8pm on Sunday). the shower was great, I was able to eat right. I cheated a little with the sweets, but still kept my sugar relatively low. My family gave me some awesome things, the mattress, bumper, sheet savers, towel, washclothes and the robe we registered for. My cousin got me a bunch of cute onsies and sleepers. and my other cousin made me this AWESOME fleece tie blanket with a jungle theme! I will take a picture of it soon and show you ladies.

Today we came home early and then did some things around the house and then headed to my BIL & SIL's house for my niece's first birthday. Crunch (who is the mascot of the Timberwolves Basketball team) was there. Alyssa loved him! They brought Pizza and brought her a gift and hats signed by him for all the kids. It was fun. My IL's were late (and they were the one that had won the free party) I couldn't believe it. They are always late! But we had a blast! She LOVED her cake, she shoved the entire thing in her mouth. I will probably post it on my blog so check it out in a few days!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Just wanted to say HI to everyone! Good luck to our June Mommas :)

Adrienne...I absolutely cannot believe that you're thisclose to finding out what you'll be having! Crazy...and am so excited to know!

Jess...Sorry about the GD. It was no fun for me, but I actually learned a ton about nutrition and a lot about the way different foods affect my body. My fasting levels were always high (105 ish) no matter what we tried. So they put me on long-acting insulin. But they didn't induce until 8 days AFTER my due date, and she was only 8 lbs 11 oz (they were telling me 9.5 for sure).

What's interesting is that my fasting levels are STILL about 105 in the morning. So either that's just "normal" for me or I actually have type 2 that they just caught while I was pregnant. We'll see in a few weeks when I go back for a repeat glucose test.

Hope everyone else is doing well :)

Lucy is so sweet...loving every minute of being a Mommy!
