Alyssa: Your kitchen is fantastic!!! I love it.
We were planning on doing ours this summer but w/ DH being out of work, we're going to do the living room and dining room first (less $$).
Liz--I can't believe your cat doesn't groom himself! All of our cats are REALLY into licking themselves. That seems like a weird cat to me, hahah!!
I'm so sorry about your parents. I'll be thinking of you and hoping things work out for the best. (((HUGS)))
Devin--I'm glad you have an explanation for the IUGR and hopefully your doctor can treat it this time around. I had never really heard of Celiac's Disease either so I've been trying to spread the word since apparently a lot of people probably have it and don't know it!
What a pain with your insurance, especially now, being pregnant again! I hope you guys are able to figure it out and it doesn't become a real problem!
Kate--Thanks for the feedback about the back sleeping. As of now, I'm not uncomfortable laying on my back, so I guess I'll keep doing it until it does feel uncomfortable.
About your test--do you think there is any way you actually DID get pregnant last month (and you are actually 8 weeks now instead of 4)?? My test wasn't dark like yours is describing even after 6/7 weeks of pregnancy!
Anyway, it's fairly certain based on that that you are not dealing with an ectopic pregnancy, since low rising HCG levels are one symptom of that. I would still ask about the cramping and possibility that you are farther along than you thought--maybe you can get an early u/s.
AFM--I'm having such a lazy day!! I woke up late, then laid around reading pregnancy books, and now I've been on the computer for hours! Ahhh, I should get up and do something.
That is quite the definitive positive you have there :)
Congrats and welcome newbies to the thread! H&H PG vibes for you!
Things are going well with me...DH and I started some classes this week. We took a breastfeeding class on Tuesday, and I thought he was going to DIE when he thought he was the only guy there at first. There ended up being five husbands there (for eight pregnant women) so he settled down. It was pretty hilarious. I told him that even if he'd been the only one he could suck it up for me. It turned out that he thought the class was really helpful. :)
We took another class called Calm Birth last night, which is based on meditation. It was really interesting and DH actually loved it. I really think it'll be helpful during labor and really, forever. I definitely got way more restful sleep last night than usual, that's for sure!
Other than that, just getting ready to go home for my shower next week. And figuring out how to tell my SIL that there is just no way she can come visit for an entire week in October. But I'm sure that'll get worked out. :/
Hope everyone is feeling great!
I will do personals later but my big reveal is today! I'm about to leave since the place my midwife works with is rather far away and I have to meet DH at his work and everything! I'm so excited to know! My final guess is boy, and so was DH's--we'll see if we're right!
Hahah, I wrote this this morning and never posted it!
Leona – that’s great you found some good deals on Ebay, and congrats on reaching 24 weeks! I’m so glad you haven’t been having any bleeding and hope it stays away the rest of the pregnancy. That’s tough about the job – hopefully it won’t be too stressful!
Adrienne – woohoo for being in the 5th box! Your vacation sounds wonderful. I’m sure you’ll have a great time!
Liz – so sorry that the thing with your parents is stressing you out so much :(
Devin – the insurance thing sounds so frustrating! Hopefully it will be worked out soon so you won’t have to worry about it anymore.
Kate – what an awesome looking test! Congrats again!
Erin – good to see you! I’m glad you (and DH) are enjoying the classes and finding them useful. Hope you have fun at your shower!
AFM – the new bras are awesome! It’s amazing what a difference it makes.
We went shopping for baby stuff today and ended up buying a crib, mattress, dresser, changing pad, and glider! Sears was having a sale, so it was good timing. It should all be coming on July 8th, which is during our week off. Perfect timing! We hope to do the nursery that week.
We also decided on a car seat, stroller, and pack n’ play, but we’re going to wait a bit before getting them.
Other things that we need to start thinking about are carriers, breast pump, bottles...am I missing any of the more obvious things?
