Kate, Okay, so maybe I was exaggerating, but he did use a lot, plus we had some others from dinners that week that hadn't been done yet, but because our dishwasher has been acting up, we don't run it unless we can watch it.

Anyway I am feeling much much better about things..I came home today from work a little early to rest while working and I think it worked. I have a ton to do tonight, but it helped to get a little rest.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, I probably won't be on until late sunday night again.

OK, so DH hadn't done dishes in a few days, and I didn't realize how bad it was until dinner last and I took our last 3 clean plates out of the cabinet (we must have 20 of them). The first thing I thought of was you.

Thankfully they are all done now.

Have a great weekend Jess.

What is everyone else up to this weekend?

Today I need to do DS's laundry and pack him for vacation, he's going w. my mom and niece to Martha's Vineyard to visit my aunt and cousins for the week. Ray also has a t-ball game, if the weather holds out we'll go to the town beach after that.

Tomorrow we'll see DS of and then DH and I are going to do some baby window shopping and go to dinner.

Kate- That makes me laugh. :) I hope you had a good weekend!!

I am finally relaxing and haven't really done that since Friday night. Saturday we left to go up north (2 1/2 hour drive) to visit friends. It was a great time and it was nice and cold up there (60's) and it was good to go down to the lake with DH (He is usually working when we visit). Today we drove back and I had my baby Shower! I got lots of cool stuff and cute baby clothes. We played some fun games (Name that baby animal, name the candy bar in the diaper, and name the food in the baby jar). My friends were amazing and it was a great time.

Pregnancy wise I am doing fine - I was really bad with the graduation party yesterday and the shower today, and I totally forgot to test after the shower, so oh well. Something sort of amazing happened... My mom and my MIL were leaving at the end of the shower and my mom hugged my MIL. and then when I was saying goodbye to my MIL I took a chance (The IL's aren't huggers and I so am) and I hugged her and she hugged me back. I think we are making some progress towards a better MIL, DIL relationship. :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Leona – so glad things are going well with the pregnancy now, and you’re off resting. It will probably be a tough transition, but like you said, you’ll probably feel better being able to do things for yourself now.

Jess – that’s great that you’ll be able to go to 42 weeks. As for DH – I’d be annoyed at that too! Glad you’re feeling better about things now. Sounds like you had a great weekend, and that the baby shower went well. Yay for making progress with MIL!

Kate – I tend to get slight cramping, but nothing that is super painful or lasts very long. Have you asked your doctor about it? I hope Ray has a great vacation with your mom and niece!

AFM - I had some spicy food on Saturday and Baby G did not like it at all! I felt ill the rest of the day and into Sunday as well. So, I'm thinking no more spicy food for a while!

DH and I are taking some time off starting on the 1st, and we're pretty excited! We're not going anywhere, so it will just be nice to bum around the house, and do little day excursions here and there. We're going to have an open house on the 10th so our friends can come see what we've done with the house so far. Should be fun.

Alyssa - Your vacation sounds wonderful! I wish DH and I would do that more often. That's what my parents do every year, they take a week off during the beginning of the summer, go to concerts, putz around the house, get stuff done and just enjoy each other. so much fun.

DH and I are going to rearrange the nursery tonight. I was leaving it be, so as to not get my hopes up that he wanted to change it, but he came downstairs this morning and said Tonight we should rearrange the nursery and put up the curtains. I told him last night that all the ladies at the shower (including his mom) thought that the glider should go in the corner, so we are going to try it out tonight. I can't wait.

My sugars are out of control! I am really hoping that after lunch today I can get them back inline. With the shower yesterday I was high at 10:30 at night - a 181, the highest I have been. I think it was the punch and the cake and the food, but still she is going to freak when she sees that this morning. I explained it in the email, so we will see what she says. I was a 137 this morning after breakfast, but I think I tried to get too many carbs in and it pushed me over the limit, so I will have to cut back tomorrow.

Alyssa--That is awesome that you bought a bunch of stuff and it will be delivered at a convenient time! Woohoo! Are you planning on having a shower? If so, I would wait to buy the car seat and a lot of other things until after your shower.

In terms of the house--I know what you mean--we have a ton of stuff we need to do in our house, but over time you will realize that there actually isn't a whole lot that you NEED to do right away. As long as you have running water, electricity, and a working bathroom and kitchen, you will be surprised what you can live with. We try to pick a couple of things to do every year, which forces us to prioritize.

Yay for feeling more movement and your big u/s approaching!! I can't wait to hear what it is! I guess girl. ;-)

That is so nice that you and DH are taking some time off, but not going anywhere. I don't know if me and DH have ever done that but I think it would be really relaxing. I don't know if it will count that we'll both be home for 2 weeks to a month after the baby is born. ;-)

Leona--I so know what you mean about stamina. I was only on bedrest for a month (and really it was only strict for like 2 weeks), and I would get exhausted doing ANYTHING at first! Now me and DH have been walking every day after dinner, though, and I think that helped a ton because I went hiking almost every day on our vacation and even though I was tired, I definitely could do it.

Jess--Sorry your in-laws were driving you nuts on your vaca! It can be tough to be with in-laws for a whole week. While we were on vacation, James took one day to do a long hike all by himself and I think the alone time away from my family was really good for him. Sorry you guys didn't get any alone time. :-(

I would ask your midwife/doctor about Candida when you see her--it is an imbalance in your intestines/vagina that causes a lot of yeast infections and it is aggravated by eating sugar and carbs, so it would make sense for you to have it along with GD. Hopefully it's not that, though, because the cure is eating ZERO sugar (not even fruit or anything) and it usually takes several months to clear up. I couldn't imagine not eating fruit, I think I would go crazy.

That is so nice that you like your dietician, and that your glider came! Woot!

Sorry you had a rough few days there and that DH messed up the kitchen. That would annoy me, too, so I totally get where you are coming from.

Yay for hugging MIL! Sometimes non-huggers just need others to take the initiative, I think. ;-)

Kate--Yay for a HB and good ultrasound!! Hopefully the baby will be born right on time, or even a little late, so you don't end up with two Bdays right on top of each other!

Honestly, I had so many issues with DTD causing my period to come early that I put myself (and later when I was spotting, my doctor put me) on pelvic rest for the whole first trimester. I would think if you aren't having any spotting it is probably fine, but you might want to take it a little easier, avoid deep penetration, etc. There were a few ladies on my EC that ended up having a m/c after DTD started off spotting--those pregnancies might have been unhealthy anyway, but I feel like you would always wonder, KWIM? But maybe ask your doctor. I had tons of cramping throughout the whole first trimester and I wasn't even DTD so who knows.

Sorry you are exhausted and hungry. For me the real exhaustion only lasted a week (week 5-6) or two, so hopefully it is the same with you!

That is so nice that Ray is taking a little vacation with his Grandma! It will probably be nice to have some alone time with DH, especially if you have been feeling tired. ;-)

Amber--Yay for DH's new job! Hopefully you will find a good one soon, too.

That is awesome that your little girl is growing and starting to move and shake a little more! I definitely think baby-fetuses have growth spurts just like babies do, so I'm sure she will slow down a little. ;-) What a great picture! I am thinking of going for a 4D u/s around week 33 or so, but we'll see I guess.

Liz--LOL!!! I totally peed myself earlier this week--I was brushing my teeth and all of a sudden I had to pee and I just couldn't hold it at all. Siiiiigh, I am really bad about kegeling--I sometimes do it while peeing but not every time. Hopefully I will get better over the next few months!

AFM--Finally back from vacation! It was awesome. We hiked every day except Wednesday (or was it Thursday?)--it was downpouring. I'm really glad that me and DH have been walking every day because I doubt I would have been able to make it otherwise.

Mostly we did short (1-2 hour) easy hikes, but on Tuesday we did a major hike--started at 10am and didn't finish until 5. We took many breaks, including a long one for lunch that included a swim in this pond at the top of this mountain--which was unbelievably beautiful and refreshing--but it was still a LONG and tiring day. Luckily it was the next day that it was raining, so we recovered that day.

We also went into town that day and I bought three (or four?) cute outfits--I'll have to take pics and post them on here.

Our other long hike day was Friday--10-2--we hiked to the top of Cadillac Mountain (highest on the island), and then my Mom and Grandma picked us up at the top.

Saturday we drove to my parents house. Sunday (yesterday) was my cousins graduation party and I wore this cute dress--it was really nice to see everyone, and some people hadn't seen me since I got pregnant or hadn't even heard about it, so it was really fun.

I don't know if I mentioned this on here yet, but my cousin who was pregnant found out it was a blighted ovum, just a few days before we left on our vacation. I felt so awful for her--the only saving grace was that she hadn't told anyone on our side of the family except for her immediate family. But she was at the graduation party and I was trying to downplay the PGcy talk around her but it was hard because no one else knew about it. :-( Hopefully they will get PG again as soon as they are ready to start trying.

In happier news, James David is moving and kicking a ton now--I feel him every day, most of the day, and other people have felt him too--DH, my sisters, etc. I swear last night I even saw my hand move when he kicked it--LOL!

Anyway I hope everyone else is well.

Adrienne - Glad you had a great time on your vaca. Awesome about all the hikes, thats great! Makes me want to get out and do some, but it's so darn hot here, that's not going to happen ;)

I talked with my MW - forgot to update people, but she said it's nothing to worry about. She said the increase discharge is fine at this stage and that as long as it's not irritated or anything we are good. Thinking back, it's actually not any worse than it normally was, just that it was more, so I think that's why the smell was more and now it's gotten a lot better.

AFM - I have another shower today! I am super excited about it. It's a dual shower with my friend who is due on 7/25. should be a lot of fun.

DH and I got the nursery finished! he and I compromised on the layout and got it done and I moved the decals and got the curtains up as well.

Here are some pictures

Jess – This will be the first time we take time off together and just stay home. I’m really looking forward to it, but hope we don’t just become lazy!

I love the way your nursery turned out! Having the glider in the corner looks great. Too bad about your high sugar numbers – are they back down a bit yet?

Adrienne – no plans for a shower here. None of our friends really “know” about that stuff (we have a few friends that have babies, but no one super close). So, we’re just going to buy things as we find them. We actually ended up buying an infant car seat last weekend!

For the house – we had a bunch of money set aside to do renovations/etc., we just don’t know which renovations to do first! But, now that we have the kitchen and painting done, we’ll do something “practical” and get the gutters/eaves troughs replaced. Then we’ll probably wait a few months to get the fireplace replaced and 2nd bathroom done. Spacing it out will make us feel better because we can put money in the savings, and because we’re tired of having random people in the house! LOL!

Your vacation sounds like it was amazing! Good for you for going on all those hikes – I have problems walking around the block in this kind of heat (although it’s quite nice today). Sorry to hear about your cousin :( That must have been devastating for her. I hope she gets a sticky bean soon.

AFM – I felt Baby G move from the outside for the first time yesterday!!! I told DH about it and he was super excited, but kind of sad that he hasn’t been able to feel it yet. He sat with his hands on my belly for a while last night, but Baby G wasn’t moving. Hopefully soon.

Alyssa - My numbers are back down. it's just getting so hard to keep them down and I am just getting sick of eating the same foods over and over again...but I am going to lunch today at my favorite pasta place, so that will be nice. I am going to eat before I go to the shower just in case I can't have what's there and that way I can test before I get there and not during the shower. I forgot to test on Sunday :( But I haven't heard from my dietitian yet, so maybe she is fine with that.

Kass - Can you believe how close are getting!! I can't believe that we are almost there, seriously where did the time go, it seems like yesterday we just got our BFP. and Adrienne is 1/2 way!! Awesome about the curtains and the nursing covers....I don't sew either. DH and I stapled up the curtains (they wouldn't fit with a rod), so I just bought some and cut them, we probably could have done fabric, but then I would have to hem them :)
