Cassie- Wow! Your work changes sound so good!! I am VERY happy to hear that:)
Regarding Germany and appts and U/S:
Here you have to have an appt every 4 weeks up until 30 weeks where you have an appt every 2 weeks.
There are 3 U/S appts that are set in stone (although you can opt out): 9-12 weeks, 19-22 weeks, and 29-32 weeks. So today was my first big official U/S, the other 2 were more for dating purposes and to ease my worries.
However many many doctors here do an U/S much more often since the equipment is right in the room and both patients and doctors like the certainty it brings- however I am sure the midwife that I will be going to will not do anymore then check for the heartbeat:)
Ella - That sounds like a great idea for the tickers! Thanks for doing that. So glad to hear you are home and feeling better, what an ordeal! the crib sounds awesome!
Mari - Yay for an u/s date!! That is also the date of my first appt. :) That's so awesome that DH got to feel the baby move! I always love that part!
Julie - I am feeling the exact same way as you about mealtimes! It's so annoying!
Noel - Sorry to hear about MORE car trouble. Ugh.
Cheryl - No fair, we are supposed to be the same and you are skipping ahead! LOL. Do you think maybe you O'd sooner than FF thought? How crazy!
Jay - I'm feeling like I really need to have a boy to make everyone else happy right now too. I know it's silly. I at this point honestly don't care anymore. I would love to have three girls too. I just want a healthy baby!
Ash - that is so nice that you get to have all those u/s's!! And the baby is really looking like a human now and not a blob! Yay!
Cassie - I'm a huge worry wart when I'm PG! I always feel better once I get to the point where I start feeling regular movement though. I think your fears are totally normal!
Cross posted from the 1T thread:AFM - I'm still here, still feeling bad. Last night I had a couple pretzels and a handful of carrots for dinner. Ugh. Today has been much better, but I seem to get one "better" day for every 3-4 bad ones. My biggest problem is drinking, I can't find a drink I can stomach, even water! I can't do anything sweet for sure. I've been munching on some ice chips and that seems to be helping a big. I'm so thirsty and dehydrated, it's awful! I went by my new m/w's office today to get my new patient paperwork and lab slip and then did the whole urine sample/blood work stuff. So the m/w should have all my results when I go in on Tuesday so that's nice. I guess that's all for now!
Marianna - Yippeee!!! For DH feeling baby move! Isn't it wonderful for him to finally be 'in on it'? :) I'm sure you'll have a blast shopping for a cute met evening dress. How fun!
Cheryl - The U/s sounds like it went wonderfully. You gotta love that! Nice pic of your lil bean!
Jay - isn't it funny how time seems to be dragging on & then all of a sudden you're in the 2T! Yea! Preggo dreams can be sop weird. It's nice that you were able to work that one out. I hope ou do get a lil boy.
Ash - another great appt for our board today! Yea!! The pics are too cute! No wonder you couldn't stop laughing!
Ella - LOL! 'Have to see if you really bought it or just thought about it', That sounds like how my brain works these days! Glad you bought a stroller! Just don't blame me if you don't like it, OK? I have seen some cupholders to put on it for sale on Ebay. If you want one you can keep an eye out & see what comes up. I only ever carry a water bottle, so I'll probably just use a water bottle carrier that I have & hang it on the handle.
Cassie - I can't believe you had to get down on the floor for something at work. I'm already starting to have trouble with that. Yuck! The new schedule sounds fantastic!! I hope it works really well for you all! As for summer - I refuse to think of it as gone just yet. It's perfectly normal to worry, esp right before going in for a checkup when you know they'll be looking/ listening. I'm a little worried at what they'll find at my follow-up U/S on Fri. I try to acknowledge those worries & then reassure myself with baby wiggles &, if baby won't co-operate the doppler. Also, thinking positively - focusing on my baby being healthy & well, really makes a big difference. If you let yourself swell on the negative, it makes you feel so much worse. There are those, aslo, who believe that you get what you focus on, so just in case that has some merit, I try to keep in mind what it is I'm dwelling on mentally. I'm sure everything will be great when you go in again!
Cara - Sorry you're still feeling so bad. Even many small sips of water bother you? What about a tummy tea? I know Celestial Seasonings makes a great one called Grandmas Tummy Mint. Maybe you'd be able to sip that. I take it ginger doesn't help you? There are lots of ginger teas too. Dehydration will make you feel worse, so keep on trying to get something in. Hang in there! It'll get better soon!
AFM - We push-started DH's car last evening & dropped by the dealership so that they could look at it today. The miraculous thing is.... they fixed it for free!!!! DH had tried to jump-start it with the van, but it didn't work. (he only did it bc I said we should try that first & I don't think he got the batteries connected very well) But it turns out that it was the battery. I have no recollection of it, but apparently we bought the battery from the dealer 4 years ago..... oh wait I remember telling DH that we could get one cheaper elsewhere now..... & it was still under the warranty!! Whoohoo!! Finally a break! What a relief! This afternoon the kids & I get to go to the big Rummage sale - to the early preview since we volunteered. We have little piles of things that we want to get in different areas. I'm hoping to buy an American Girl doll that we saw while setting up. They hadn't priced it yet at that point, but I'm sure it'll be too much for the little bit of money that Simone has, so I'm hoping to sneak buy it for a Christmas present. I was cracking up bc she stuck a few doll outfits into a corner where she can run & get them before anyone else finds them. Too cute! I also saw a baby gym & diaper pail that I want to pick up for my lil pea. I used a gym a lot from pretty young with Julian & Hope. I'm feeling good today! I did my yoga & I'm getting lots of lil wiggles from my lil Pea! That's the good stuff. I typed that stuff this afternoon, then the computer wouldn't co-operate, so.... the sale went great! I spent too much money, of course, but got DH an awesome leather desk chair ($10!) to replace his broken one AND I got my self a serger sewing machine for $20!! OK, you don't know it, but that's a fantastic deal!! I just hope it works well enough to really be useful! We also found many other useful household things & the kids found a few little toy things. Simone was disappointed that she didn't get the American Girl doll... but I got it for her for Christmas. I feel a little guilty since she was so bummed about it, but oh well. Then I went to choir practice... I was already tired when I got there. It was fun, though. We have some really great music for this fall. And a good friend of mine decided to join too. That'll make it even more fun.

I got oohed & aahed over for my round baby belly. Many of the people in the choir I haven't seen since May or June, so it's a big difference. I love the idea that baby now gets to hear lots of singing!
ella - i just wanted to say thanks for doing the front page again...if you want/when you're ready, i can take over too, since you're *almost* next in line to move on to the next section.
Belly Pics!!! This is my 12 weeks photos. I didn't have anyone to take it for me unless I asked my 5 yrs. old and she would probably take pictures of my legs.
Noel - That is so great that your hubby's car was a quick and free fix. I know that makes the both of you breathe a lot easier. I love that you snuck and got the American Girl doll for her. She will be so surprised for Christmas.
Carly - Hang in there!!! I really hope that all the nausea and exhaustion and pregnesia let up on you soon. Thanks for volunteering to take over for Ella when she is ready to move on.
Cara - I know what you mean about being okay with having three girls. The only thing for me is I hate doing two girls hair so three would really drive me crazy. I am ready for that to be DH's job and with a boy it would be.
AFM - So a few people at my job know I am pg and I am sure mostly everyone knows by now. It is not like I am not showing, but I really feel awkward saying it to people that already know, but don't want to be rude and say something to me. My co-worker slipped (after I already told my boss) and told a lady at our job (not mad at her for that, it was an honest mistake) who then told the ladies on her team. Now I had already went to her office and said "so Emily told me she spilled the beans" and we talked for a couple minutes and I told her that I haven't really told anyone yet except Emily and my boss and my boss' boss. Anyway the other day one of the ladies in the office next (which is shared by three women) was passing by and peaked in and congratulated me. I was so caught off guard and said Thank You! Well the receptionist I am sure knows and the other two ladies next door, but I feel weird now just going up to them and saying what "So I guess you know" or "Hey I'm pregnant" I mean what do you say. I feel like they might be thinking why hasn't she told us yet? I am sure this isn't a big deal like I am drumming up, but I kinda wanted to tell my news and now I feel forced to tell people who obviously already know.
Ash & Julie - Thanks!!! I am actually now starting to wear the maternity clothes that I bought. It is really comfortable and I figured since this may be my last pg (we'll see I am still in my twenties) I may as well get a good amount of wears out of these clothes. I mainly bought dresses and I got a pair of work pants and probably will get another pair so that I am prepared for the winter. I also got this really cute top that I am wearing today. I will probably get a couple more tops. I bought shorts in the junior section at walmart that have an adjustable waist so they are working out pretty well because i had to cinch them at first but now I am getting to let them out some.
Julie - After reading the posts that have been on other boards the intelligender test is the furthest from my mind now. I may still buy one to take before or after my big u/s to just see what it tells me for kicks and giggles. I too agree that at the end of the day a healthy baby is what I want. I will love my baby no matter what gender or God forbid-health concerns it has.
