We don't do anything special for grandparents day, but we make sure to talk to our grandparents on grandparents day and let them know we are thinking of them. Sometimes we do cards, other times it's just a phone call. When DS gets a little older we'll have him make them something special for them.

I voted "no" since I have never really heard of it but i totally think it should be a holiday. Not so that the card and flower companies could make more money but so that we could show our appreciation for them and our kids could too. I guess we don't really need it to be announced a holiday as I think I will start having my kids do something for their grandparents at some point in the year.

We also have that one, but on a different date. Nobody pays it much attention though...

BUt in this case, I guess it would be the perfect excuse! "We wanted to wait until X week, and also wanted to make it special by telling you on grandparents' day!!"

Yep, sounds good enough to me!! ;)

I voted no, because I feel like there are way to many holidays like this, and I would go nuts if we had to celebrate grandparents day too. Grandparents already get honored at mothers day, fathers day, and their birthdays, how many days do they need? In general though, I'm just kind of anti hallmark holidays. All that being said, it sounds like a decent excuse for telling your parents, if you feel ready, I say go for it!

i'm only asking because, according to my calendar at work, it's this coming sunday, and seeing as i was going to tell my family the following sunday anyway, i was considering using it as a crutch and telling my family sooner.
