remember my BFF who had all those awful scary medical problems a month ago...crashing blood sugar and epileptic seizures, on a ventilator, etc? she had her baby last night!!!! which makes me a sort of auntie, lol.

little arvid jay was born sometime between the hours of 1am and 2am (not clear exactly when, only spoke with her husband briefly...i'm so honored that we were on the 11:30pm "we're at the hospital" call list AND the 2:10am "HE'S HERE!!!" call list too!), weighing in at 7lb9oz, even though my BFF was 37 weeks on the nose yesterday when her water broke. holy crap he would've been a big baby had he gone full term or overdue!!! she went in at around 9pm because her water had broken, but her contractions were still mild and far apart, so they were going to see how she progressed until they discovered somewhere in there that AJ was breech, so he was born via c-section after all. mom is doing great, although i just read on dad's facebook that they transferred AJ to the NICU here at the hospital where i'm supposed to deliver, 2 hours away. not sure what happened, but if it was serious he wouldn't be here, he'd be somewhere in wisconsin.

i can't wait to meet the little guy! i'm so so happy! of course, since he was born so quickly after only mild labor and 3 weeks early, this means i'll DEFINITELY go two weeks overdue and be in active labor for three days, lol.

Congrats, Carly!

I hope you get to see your "nephew" and that he is able to leave NICU very soon!

Carly! Thats awesome!! Congrats....So glad they are doing well. My cousin was in the NICU at 8lbs 10oz when she was born. she had just swallowed a bit of fluid and was out in a week, so maybe it was something like that, just getting things cleared up before heading home. She is now a strong healthy almost 4 year old, her birthday is in 2 weeks! :)

I bet he is like my cousin - the biggest baby in the NICU :)

thanks girls, although i feel silly accepting congrats for something i really had nothing to do with, lol. i'm just so excited! it's made me forget that my problems are problems right now...perfect timing for some happy news.

apparently little AJ was having a bit of trouble breathing...probably amniotic fluid in his lungs, since he was 3w early and born via c-section. he'll be fine, i'm sure. i've already extended an invitation for mom and dad to stay with us after she's discharged while AJ is in NICU, since we're only 20min away. less commuting for them.

i'm so stoked! happy birthday AJ!!!

Congrats Carly! So glad to hear that after everything mom and baby are doing ok. I'm sure he will be out of the NICU in no time.

a little new info...AJ had a small tear in one of his lungs, so that's why he's in the NICU down here. so it's not serious, but will require a little recovery time.

i want to go over and see him right now, lol! never gonna happen though...not with the flu restrictions at the hospital and mom and dad both still up north.
