It's a boy!

Hi gals,

I haven't been around much these days but wanted to let you all know that we welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world on Feb. 27. Like Avery, he was 5 weeks early. She was a 35 weeker, he was 34 weeks, 6 days. :) We had a stay in the NICU for low glucose on day 1 and jaundice for 5 more, but we're now home settling in. He was 6 lbs, 13 oz ("LGA" large for gestational age--no kidding!) and 19.5 inches long.

I was super aware of the day and anxious because my first came early, so when I started cramping at the crack of dawn that day, I just knew what was coming. Luckily we made it to the hospital with plenty of time to spare (instead of our dramatic past experience where I barely made it) and I labored fine without drugs. The doc broke my water when I was at 7 cm and BAM. Owen arrived just minutes later, no messing around. My husband had to go yell for the doctor because she'd left the room. I think the pain all concentrated in the few minutes after my water was broken because I definitely had a moment where I just knew I couldn't do it! Then my husband said that the head was out, so I went ahead and finished the job. :)
