I woke up as normal and took the girls to daycare and school. I felt really hungry and my stomach was definitely feeling funny. I ate breakfast when I got to work as usual and about 30 minutes later I threw it all up. I sent my boss a message who was “working from home” and she told me to go home. I drove home feeling like crap and threw up pretty much the entire day. I wanted to go to the hospital but my doctor’s office kept saying they wanted to try me on some Phenegran first to see if it would help with the nausea and vomiting. I kept calling DH who was at work and letting him know what was going on. He had a test that night in school and couldn’t miss it so I picked the girls up praying that I didn’t get sick along the way. I was able to get them and get to Walmart to pickup the prescription along with some Gatorade, Bread, and Jello. I bought the girls some McDonald’s because I was not up to making anything. I laid in bed until DH got home from school and he took over with the girls. He took them with him so that he could buy something to eat. The entire time he was gone (this was around 8:00 pm) I was having contractions that were about 8-10 minutes apart. They were painful so I knew it wasn’t BH, but I thought it might be because I was dehydrated.
DH gets back with the girls and he starts to time them and they were still pretty much 8 minutes apart. I tried to go to sleep but when a contraction would hit me I would wake up out of my sleep. I knew from that they were real because I wasn’t able to talk either when I would have one. Finally around 12ish DH convinced me to call the doctor (actually he took my phone and called the on-call physician). When the doctor called back I explained what I was feeling (I should say that I spoke to him earlier about the vomiting and prescription and he said call him if things changed) and that the contractions were painful and waking me up out of my sleep. He asked me if it was my first baby and I told him no so he said I needed to get to the hospital.

We got to the hospital around 1:00am and I changed into a gown and the nursed checked me and I was already 5cm. I was shocked. She also said I had a bulging bag so she didn’t think it would take to long for me to go complete. She asked if I wanted an epidural and I told her “yes”. I thought I would do it again without drugs, but it was so painful and I felt like I didn’t have anything to prove. The epidural was a the best thing ever, but it took for ever for me to be able to get it. I was so dehydrated from throwing up all day that they couldn’t get a good vein to save my life. The anesthesiologist normally will do the epidural right away, but he said that I was so dehydrated he wanted me to get a full bag of fluids in before he would do it. The nurses were so awesome because they put this pump on it to make it drip a lot faster and then it was time for my drugs. Oh it seemed to take forever and the pain was just unbearable. After the epidural was in place DH and I took a nap because we were exhausted. It took no time for me to be complete. She checked me again and said “you’re already 10cm and your bag is really coming out”. She asked if I had the urge to push, but I didn’t. It was strange I didn’t feel like I needed to push at that point. They paged my doctor and she came right over. She said she didn’t even have time to brush her teeth. I had just gotten off the phone with my co-worker/friend and told her they were setting up to deliver the baby. It took me three pushes on the same contraction and first I felt his head pop out, then I felt his body slide on out. My doctor put him on my chest and I just couldn’t believe that this was my son. He was so tiny and cute. I am still in awe at how gorgeous he is. Once he was cleaned and weighed they gave him to me and he opened his mouth right away and started to nurse. He went on both breast and would even fall asleep on it. For the first time with my tiniest baby I had a 1 degree tear that required one stitch. They said I pushed him out so fast that that is probably why it happened. Everyone is great and I love this hospital so much and the food is always great.
DH and I still cannot believe that we had him today. It is like someone said since I scheduled the induction he would come before that date. My mother said she knew he wouldn’t wait until she got here. DH went to go get the girls who are being watched by my grandmother. Jayla told my grandmother that she is waiting for her mommy and daddy and baby brother to come home. We still do not have a name for him as we are finding it really hard to stick with one. DH wants us to decide together which I thought was so cute since I initially told him that he could have that decision. We are just so in love with him. DH cannot stop holding him and looking at him. He is so proud and in love with this little boy. All in all my labor was great and we are both doing great. The staff was so shocked out how quickly I labored and delivered and I have to say I am too!!! Our son’s birthday is the day after his grandmother my MIL. Well I will update you when we have a name.
