I got a BFP!!

For anyone who doesn't know me, here is my story (it's long):

We dropped BCP in February, 2008 to get ready to TTC. We were NPP at first, but gave that up after about 6 weeks. By the end of summer '08, I was sure something was wrong. My doctor dismissed my concerns, but I asked DH to ask his dr. for a s/a. DH put off the s/a until December. We got the horrible call on New Year's Eve 08 that there were no sperm in the sample.

We started trying to figure out why this could be and if there was anything we could do about it. After an insurance covered urologist who did not know much about infertility, we found an infertility specialist who was fantastic. He gave us a 75-80% chance of finding sperm with a procedure that would have to take place the day before my egg retrieval in an IVF cycle. He recommended have donor sperm as a backup in case he couldn't find DH's sperm so the cycle wasn't wasted. DH was NOT okay with donor sperm at all. Then, my 25 year old brother died unexpectedly and I was in no place emotionally to deal with this, so we put it on hold. We saved all of the money we could and tried to heal emotionally from all we'd been dealt in those crappy 3 months.

In fall 2009, DH decided he would be okay with donor sperm only if it came from his younger brother. We decided to wait until after the holidays to ask BIL. I didn't know how long the approval process would be (some places it is 6 months!) and we wanted to cycle in June. BIL agreed to start the testing but was not ready to commit. He agreed and offered to do whatever it would take to make our dreams come true.

June it is! I start stimulation injections on June 14th. Everything was going well. DH had his procedure on June 23rd and no sperm were found. On our 4 year wedding anniversary, June 24th, I had my egg retrieval. They got 20 eggs, but only 7 fertilized with BIL's goods. On June 29th I went in for the embryo transfer and found out that only one had made it to blastocyst stage, where they want them to be on day five, and the others were behind. We had the blast and a morula (about 6 hours behind the blast) transferred. None of the others made it to blasts, so we had nothing to freeze.

Today is 7 days past 5 day transfer (7dp5dt) and my second day of positive tests. I know we still have a long way to go, hoping this one(s) stick around. DH and I would be thrilled with twins and I hope that we get to see beating hearts in a few weeks. My clinic has my beta scheduled for Monday (13dp5dt), but I am going to try to get in tomorrow.

Thank you all for your support and positive thoughts through my roller coaster. Please keep them coming for this/these little ones to stick around, be in the right place, and develop normally! Due date looks like March 17th!! (and wow, if you made it this far!)
