Shawn and Jamie - We went into the delivery room with a list of names... 5 of each gender. I think it's great to wait and see baby to pick a name (although we have our girl name settled should we ever be expecting one). I had a friend who told everyone baby was going to be named X... and then baby was born and she named baby Y.... everyone was so confused.

Sandy - glad things with DH are getting better!  That's great news!  Also good news about the job, being able to take his time and search for something he wants to do rather than settling just to have a job is a big deal!

Erin - Sounds like you had a great visit with the step-kids!  I know it's hard not to take it personally when they don't seem to be as affectionate with you, but I'm sure that's very normal.  Please don't let that doubt your ability as a mother.  It will be much different with your own child. Plus, it sounds like you're still doing a great job with the step kids!  And I'm still sorry about your sucky boss :smileysad:

Ruby - sorry you're feeling crummy :smileysad:  I think there are a few of us on here whose children got some extra cartoon time during the first trimester!!  I found that if I let DS watch something more eduational I didn't feel as bad :smileyhappy:  Hope you start feeling better soon!

Jamie - you are adorable!!!  In the home stretch!!

Liz - I can't believe you're getting so close, too.  Feel like time is flying!  Sounds like you have most of what you need done.  Hooray!!  Love the names you have!  Including the dog :smileyhappy:

Jess - sorry about the allergies.  I can relate as mine have been awful as well.  That certainly is a lot of appointments you have coming up!

AFM - Not doing too bad.  Still having quite a bit of hip pain at night.  Still not making as much progress as I would like on her room, and still undecided on a name and stuck between the two we have.  I have an ultrasound next week and I'm excited to see her again!

Jamie--Our new girl's name is Odella. It's the name her owners gave her, and the rescue assigns names based on the month the dog comes in. Since August is O or P names, it fit. We liked it and kept it. It's Hebrew for Sings, Praises God. She's definitely a singer.

Jess--I can't believe your reno is still going on! Is there any recourse for it being dragged out so long? And whoa; that's a lot of appointments!

AFM--I think we finally have a girl name! Boy is Silas Timothy. Girl is Adelaide Ruth. Sean picked the first name, so I got middle name rights. It was opposite for the boy. :smileyhappy:

Jamie-you look adorable!!

Waving hi to everyone else!

I am here and surviving. My allergies are now acting up! It's like it was when I was little, I haven't had this in a long time. Last night we were outside at an end of the summer BBQ at Gabby's daycare and I was just miserable. People probably thought I had the plague or something crazy.

I had my appointment with the OB on Monday. Baby is measuring just fine, movements are good (which I knew) and her heart rate was 140bpm, so just great! He wants me to start Biophysical Ultrasounds at 32 weeks. So I scheduled 4 or 5 of them out until 10/15. Crazy!! I am excited to see the baby weekly but seriously 40 minute ultrasounds on top of a 20 minute appt with my midwife every other week and appointments with my nutritionist every other week I will feel like I am living at the doctors office. I am going to talk to my MW on the 7th and see what she says about the US. Plus we haven't reached our deductible so I have to pay out of pocket for them and I think they are like 230 a pop so we will see what happens :smileyhappy:

Heartburn is still the same, popping the tums. My GD was in line until the past two days my morning numbers were bad,I don' tknow if it's because two nights ago I forgot to take my meds and then it's carry over from me eating more yesterday evening to thismorning but my fasting number was 100. if this keeps up I know they are going to up my meds! So I have to behave even more now. I actually lost a pound from 2 weeks ago, I have NO idea how that happened, maybe it's all the stress we have been under.

OUr house situation is still the same not done, but I washed the first load of clothes last night and will fold and organize them this week or next week! So we are getting there.

Mari, Yeah, sure!  I don't have a new-new one right now.  I posted over on the October 2012 EC when I was 30 weeks.  Here's that one - if I take another and post it, I'll post it over here too!

30 weeks.jpg

The belly is definitely bigger and sticks out further now, four weeks later, but I've been surprised by how long I've been able to wear regular clothes.  I did have to get maternity jeans pretty quickly and finally broke down and got some maternity shorts back in early July, but I haven't bought any maternity dress pants or skirts for work.  Most of my stuff still fits with the button/zipper undone and a bella band holding it up.  Since longer tops have been in style for a few years now, I've also had a lot of shirts I've been able to continue to wear as well.  Though, some are finally starting to get to the point where I bet in a week or two, they'll be too short.

Being so short - 5'2" or so - I thought I'd get this huge, huge belly because there didn't seem to be any room for the baby to grow except out!  But so far, it's not really been the case.  I guess you really never know with pregnancy.

Liz - "Baby Ezra" is too cute! Peter sounds like such a little character. I'm sorry about the groin pull, ugh, ugh!! I haven't pulled my groin this pregnancy but the crotch pain I've had lately is just ridiculous. So I feel you on lurching around and being in pain. Not fun. Be careful with the new dog! And she's beautiful, btw, what's her name?

Also, happy birthday!!

Erin - My sister is 44 years old and my dad has been in her life for 40 years. He essentially raised her with my mom (she saw her dad in the summers, he lived 8 hours away.) They have a great relationship, get along well, she considers him her other dad and doesn't remember a time in her life when he wasn't there, she refers to him to other people as "my dad" and our family was so tight when I was a kid, I didn't even know she was my "half sister" until I was like 8 or 9 yo. I knew she had another dad, and knew him, but just assumed for some reason she had two.... That anyone was anyone else's "step" anything just didn't really register. They have about as tight of a step relationship as is possible. Even with all that and ALL the many, many years they sometimes REALLY butt heads and she'll call me pissed off about whatever it is and refer to him as "your father." Like in those moments she disowns him and is glad she can! LOL.

I'm sure you did great with the kids while they were visiting. And it's awesome that you and your sd found an activity that was "your thing" while they were there. Especially because it was your sd and that relationship can be a bit more fraught because you're competition for her dad's attention to her in a way that his son wouldn't recognize or think about. (((hugs))) Good luck getting through your dh's rough period. It's so hard to just sit back and let someone go through some sadness alone. My first instinct is always to pet, soothe, distract, etc. We go through it every year in November around the anniversary of dh's sister's death and I struggle every time with letting him have his space without trying to "fix" him.

Oh and as far as the classes go, they're offered at the hospital where I'm delivering. My ob-gyn practice also offers a childbirth class, which we could have taken instead, but I figured I'd just take everything through the hospital and schedule it all at once with one phone call. There were a ton of other classes offered too - childbirth refresher for second time parents, grandparents's classes, prenatal yoga, etc. Hopefully your hospital offers some of the same as well.

AFM - Crotch pain has settled down somewhat, so that's good. I still feel rough in the mornings when I first get up or if I forget to keep my knees pressed together while rolling over in bed (owwwww!) but the all-day pain really only lasted on Sunday and Monday. I think I just overdid it on the weekend. I have a doctor's appt. this Friday and will talk to them about going to see a chiropractor next week.

Other than that, same old with us. I can't believe I have less than six weeks to go til my due date. It's wild! Some days my belly seems SO big to me, but then yesterday it occurred to me that I wasn't wearing a single maternity item except for the bella band holding up my pants. So I guess it can't be all that big, right?!

We're still not really set on a name. Our two in the running are Robert John (for our grandfathers) and William Kurt (for our dads) and we each like one better than the other. We've agreed to wait til he's born and see what seems to fit better. I hope it's pretty obvious, because right now we're def. at a stalemate. I could push for whatever and get my way, but I want him to be happy too... We'll see I guess!

Erin--This is our second week of classes, so census date (when we freeze headcount) is on Friday. Since our office does all official federal and state reporting (IPEDS, etc), it's pretty crazy. We're also gearing up for a 16 month master planning session, and we deal with space management. Bring on the crazy! I'm glad I'll be out for a couple months this fall. :smileywink:

(((Hugs)))) about the kids leaving today.

I've been reading, ya'll, but I can't remember anything anymore. So HI! and I'll try to do better later.

I'm hanging in there. Having 2-3 contractions every hour now, even when just sitting at work. This has been going on for a couple weeks now, but they typically aren't painful so I'm not worried. Just in case, though, I plan to ask to be checked at my appt next week. I'll only be 35 weeks, but want an idea before we have Peter's birthday party.

Did I mention I had agreed to foster a dog a couple weeks ago? It was supposed to be temporary, but we're keeping her. I signed the adoption contract Thursday morning, and then strained a groin muscle Thursday night trying to walk both of them at once. Oops. I can finally walk without wanting to cry now. Sean said he knew it was bad when I asked him to feed them, since one doesn't really care for him at all. I wound up having to get her rounded up and on leash, but he and my dad handled the rest.

And we're still not ready at all. Ok, we have the big stuff taken care of, but I still want to order a good ring sling after payday, and I'm hoping Sean will bring up boxes of clothes for me Friday so I can sort out some stuff this weekend. If I get that done, I'll be ok. Peter says his "sister girl" is going to sleep with him. Yeah, he insists it's a sister, but now the name is "Baby Ezra." :smileyhappy:
