I don't know how to get this started, so I'm sure someone can come by and fix my work :)

I have a family member with a similar experience as Anna. She has two boys and waited until delivery to find out the gender of both. She said her second pgcy was SO different from her first that she was so certain #2 was a girl so needless to say, she was quite shocked to learn it was another boy!

There's no tickers on the front page so I can't tell who is up next?? :-)

Same here... #2 was so different than #1... everyone, including strangers swore Teddy was going to be a girl. Um, nope.

Hi girls!! I want to share with you something that happened to me last week. I'm sure you will appreciate the humor!!!! LOL!

(X-posted from the dec. playgroup)

Hey ladies, I just need to share this with you! I'm sure you will enjoy it...

I'm not sure if I've told you... but I've just landed a new job. That's part of the reason I'm posting a little less than before. The new client is a Dr., aged 65 who pretty much thinks he is awesome, his wife, early 60s, who at first glance seems to have the personality of porridge... and (believe it or not) their 4 children, aged between 35 and 28, who "kind of" still live at home!!! (that is weird even for our traditional town!).
Anyways, the guy is simply obnoxious!! It is one of those people who think knows it all, everyone's opinons are wrong if they don't match his, and is frankly quite rude to his wife and other people in general. Here is a little sample of his charming personality and manners:

(last thursday at noon, a meeting at their current home)

DR: Oh, hello Architect, come inside...
ME: Hello
DR: here, here, sit here.

(I place my notebook and blueprints neatly on the table while he watches me, and then...)

DR: You really should watch your weight...
ME: (blink) ... Oh!? I'm fine, really.
DR: Uh...I'm not so sure
ME: And what do you know? (sorry doc, that part just slipped out!)
DR: I am a doctor, remember?
ME: (yes, you idi*t, a cardiologist, not an OB, but...) Oh, yes, but don't worry, I'm really fine, I've gained only 7Kg (15lbs) so far
DR's WIFE: that's really fine darling, it's around 1 kg a month.
DR: (looking critically at me)... Well... in that case you were certainly chubby before the pregnancy.
DR's WIFE: darling.... You never say such a thing to a woman!!!!
ME: er... uhhhhm... I was fine before too.
DR: How much did you weight before?
ME: 63,5 Kg (139lbs)
DR: See?... I'm just telling you to be careful. Many women loose track of their weight while pregnant and before they know it they are "fat old mamas"
ME: uh!?.... Should we start with the meeting then?

WTF????

And... to add insult to injury... they didn't even offer me something to drink and it was 35C outside!!!

Natalie- You are almost there! Are you still feeling really uncomfortable?

Mari- Oh my gosh that is awful!!! I think I would have been too stunned to say anything. You handled yourself really well.

Katja- That sounds like a great appt with your new OB!! Have fun telling extended family. I bet you will get such great responses!

AFM: This thread is a bit slow but I have to say I don't mind too much. I am not joining a baby club this time or anything like that because I just don't want to spend as much time thinking about or worrying about things as last time. In some ways it isn't even possible just because of Theo and not having the time and so far the impulse just hasn't been there either, which is good. Thankfully I still have this thread for a bit of moaning LOL.

Seriously though this pregnancy is so different from my last. I thought I would hurl in the grocery store today- everything smells digusting and I swear I can smell everything much more then I could before, or last pregnancy. I also still have nausea even with the meds so I really wonder just how terrible I would feel without. I have been pretty tired but trying to fight it as best I can and sometimes get naps in when Teddy naps. I am very excited for my appt next week.

What are everyones New Years plans?

We'll be having friends over, doing raclette, and setting off fireworks (German tradition). I will indulge in one glass of champagne when the clock strikes 12 but otherwise will be sticking to my caffeine free diet Coke and my non-alcoholic beer. Thankfully I am still in the feeling crappy part of pregnancy so I won't have the energy to go out and won't feel like I am missing out on as much as if I felt great :)

Ash- Sorry you are feeling so crappy. That is my fear since I had such an easy pregnancy with David
