Name/SO Name:Mari/Mati

How many weeks are you? I'm 32w according to my chart (OB agrees). But the baby sure is big, so according to u/s I am 34!!

Any exciting dates/appointments this month? I start with appts. every 2 weeks!

For those of use that are getting close:

Have you had any "progress" in regards to effacement/dilation? nope.

Do you feel like you will go early or late? I'm quite sure I will go early. In fact, since the baby is "biggish" I am going to discuss my options (induction?) if I go over 39 weeks.

How are you feeling physically? Very sore in my pelvic area, but other than that, pretty well!

How are you feeling emotionally about labor and delivery? Excited! (about L&D, afraid about postpartum)

Ash- ITA about feeling different with the secodn pregnancy. Infact, I was discussing with a RL friend (very similar situation, mom of toddler and preggo with #2) that sometimes we even forget we are pregnant!!!!! (Well, that's not true anymore, I'm too big and too uncomfortable to forget, but I sure did sometimes during the second trimester!)

I'm also uninterested in pregnancy books and articles, and only interested in birth stories when they are from women I know. While last time I was totally addicted to both!

I suppose that while you are pregnant with your first, everything is still about "you", But once you become a mom, everything is about "your family", I mean, your life focus moves outside of you, and that includes pregnancy. (sorry for the amateurish psichology!)

How are you feeling? Tired, nauseous, ready for the first trimester to be over :D

Do you know the gender yet? Nope!

I totally understand what you mean Mari :)

Remember the ultrasound might be a bit off about the size of the baby. One thing you might consider is starting to take evening primrose oil or borage oil capsules once you hit 38 weeks. They help to get your cervix ready for labor (although they won't do anything if your body really isn't ready yet) and can help start things up if you want to make sure the baby doesn't take too long coming :)

Personally I am totally against induction if it can be avoided because I think it is one of the quickest ways to end up with a C-section but I also understand not wanting to have a baby that is too big. Although really unless you have pregnancy diabetes (which you don't :D) the chances that you make a baby too big for you to actually have vaginally are so so so low!

P.S. I should add that I do believe that the borage oil capsules are what finally got labor started for me at 41 weeks - I didn't start taking them until the middle of week 40. This time I will start at 39 weeks :) I had to get them at the pharmacy here but in the States you can get them at a health store- not sure how it is for you. They are also pretty cheap.
