Christine, we had a 2 bedroom with two kids.  For one month, we had three kids in our 2 BR but that doesn't really count.  We co-sleep for about two years, so shortly after Jonah turned two, we put the boys in bunk beds.  It worked well.  We've used a Arms Reach Co-Sleeper for both Jonah and Charlotte.  Charlotte is still in our room.

I hope you find an arrangement that works for your family.

Mary- Congrats!  Tell us how you told your DH through a dessert!  Sounds like a fun surprise!

Cassie- One of my hubby's favorite junk foods is 'pirate booty.'  They are these cheddar cheese flavored rice puffs.  Anyways, you could put individual bags of that or little boxes of Captain Crunch in favor bags.  If the party is short- say, 4-6pm, you can assumed families are headed home for dinner and you needn't do more than the cake, but if you are going past that time, you may want to consider an inexpensive option for serving dinner.   And I have nothing creative to follow that up!  lol sorry!   I can't believe Simon is 3!  Grey's 3rd is in March and I am still in shock that he's such a big boy.  Where'd my toddler go?  Heck, where'd my baby go?  lol

Christine- We live in a 3bdrm, but have no plans to do a nursery until after the initial waves of guests pass through when the baby arrives.  We'll have baby in our room in a pack in play bassinette at first and when s/he outgrows that we'll make our deicison about moving bedrooms.  It seems strange to not be preparing some special space for the baby, but that's just the way it is this time!  FWIW, I have heard from many mamas that their 1st borns sleep right through baby noise, so maybe it won't be an issue once baby starts sleeping long stretches.  FXed your hubby finds a great new job!

AFM- Jan 16th (anatomy scan) feels forever away!  Maybe my own patience in waiting for week 22 is dying out especially when seeing so many in my EC getting their scans so much earlier!  Alas, 9 days to go... I've officially called bump and excited to finally be showing.  Strangers don't seem to know yet, but to those who know me its obvious.  It's crazy because it really just popped up one day and that was that.  lol.  I'm attaching a comparison shot from wk 17 to wk 19. :)  Let me know if it doesn't work because I haven't tried this on the new server yet.  So, I know I told yall that I had the flu last month.  Do you think I should still get a vaccine to help protect baby or do I have enough immunity now to pass on to baby?  I'm hearing of so many people this year who said they got the flu despite the vaccine and I'm wondering if its worth it.  Welcoming all opinions!

Mary, I want to do something to surprise family... well atleast the family here. We might send something up to his folks if I can figure out something and not break the secret.

Christine, I am so jealous you get so much time off. I will be missing my 12 weeks from last time as I get 6 weeks this time and I have to use PTO to get paid. I'm glad I took out STD last year so that will help.

Susie, so excited to see what you are having!

AFM, I am working on planning Simon's 3rd birthday party. He decided he wanted a pirate birthday party so I am working on things for him and his matey's. Any ideas for snacks? The party is going to be at 4 on a Sunday afternoon and I planned to do cake and ice cream but was thinking maybe a few snacks since that is just before dinner...or should I not be messing with people's dinner?

Name/SO Name: Matt and Cassie

How many weeks are you? 13w 1 day

Any exciting dates/appointments this month? I have one... on the... wait...lol its either next week or the week after. DH just informed me its on the 15th.

Do you feel like you will go early or late? Close to EDD

How are you feeling physically? Better today. I have gone between feeling human again and feeling like crud. I hope the human feeling is here to stay.

How are you feeling emotionally? alright

What's on your to-do list to get ready for baby this month? work on unpacking the house.. I want it done before baby gets here.

Do you know the gender yet? If not, are you thinking pink or blue? I am thinking Blue.. DH is set its pink

Any exciting plans for New Years Eve/Day? We were suppose to get together with a group from church but decided due to the snow to stay in. So we stayed up with Simon till the ball dropped in new york then hung out at home.

What would you like to accomplish this year? (in addition to having the baby, lol!) Unpacking my house!

Mary - If we do end up finding out, I was thinking to do the cake thing because my big U/S is scheduled for the day before Selin's 3rd birthday so I was thinking it would be fun to incorporate it with her party.

Suzie - How exciting your big reveal is just a few weeks away! I'm thinking pink for you. ;-)

AFM - I had my appt with my MW yesterday. Ended up not needing an U/S since she was able to hear the HB with the doppler. She did confirm that I will have to do two glucose tests since my dad is diabetic (although I don't understand why that wasn't a concern with my last pregnancy because he has been diabetic for about 15 years now but I was with a different provider back then). So at my next appt next month I have to do the one hour glucose test. Then we go back in 3 weeks from that date for our big U/S.

I've decided to change my incentive for DH and told him if he gets an interview by the big U/S, then we can find out, otherwise I want to stay on team green. I know our families are going to be irked that we're not finding out but oh well, it's our baby and we already have all of the essentials so aside from buying clothes if it's a boy, we're all set.

Question for you all...Does anyone have a 2BR house?

I'm still struggling on what to put the baby in in our room before we move them in with Selin (assuming we're still living in our current house by then). Our BRs are really small and while I'd like to use the crib again from the beginning, I don't know if it will fit in our room. We also have a hand-me-down bassinet and a PNP with a bassinet insert. I know I still have about 6 months to figure everything out but just trying to think it out ahead of time.

How many weeks are you? 13 weeks

Any exciting dates/appointments this month? Actually none since I just had an appt yesterday. I have two appts next month.

Do you feel like you will go early or late? Right on time like last time

How are you feeling physically? Still dealing with nausea. Hoping the end is in sight very soon!

How are you feeling emotionally? Fine. Looking forward to the 2T so I can enjoy this pregnancy more. We have some potential big changes coming up for us this year so we have a lot to look forward to (more on that below).

What's on your to-do list to get ready for baby this month? Nothing yet

Do you know the gender yet? If not, are you thinking pink or blue? Don't know the gender, feeling pink but will be happy with either!

Any exciting plans for New Years Eve/Day? Stayed in last night and had our own little dinner with sparkling lemonade. Was in bed by 9pm. Had breakfast at my ILs this morning. Other than that just hanging around the house today.

What would you like to accomplish this year? (in addition to having the baby, lol!) I'm praying my DH finds a new job, which will hopefully lead to us getting a bigger house. We'd also like to start investing in some properties. Looking forward to hopefully traveling overseas later this year to visit DH's family with the baby since Selin and I weren't able to go last year. I'm feeling pretty settled in my new career now so not really looking to make any changes in that area. Looking forward to being off work from June-Nov with the baby. :-)

Hi everyone!  A quick question...has anybody done/planning to do a gender reveal party with the cake and everything?  I'm thinking of doing one this time around to make things exciting for a second child.

Name/SO Name:  Mary/Joe

How many weeks are you?  Almost 4

Any exciting dates/appointments this month?  Our first appt/ultrasound is 1/29.

Do you feel like you will go early or late?  Too early to tell.

How are you feeling physically?  Tired/heightened sense of smell already.

How are you feeling emotionally?  A little moody at times

What's on your to-do list to get ready for baby this month?  We'll tell our families later this month after the first appointment.

Do you know the gender yet? If not, are you thinking pink or blue?  Thinking pink but have no idea yet.

Any exciting plans for New Years Eve/Day?  DH and I have a date tonight.  I'll be telling him about the pregnancy via our dessert at the restaurant!  So excited!

What would you like to accomplish this year? (in addition to having the baby, lol!)  Have a healthier pregnancy this time around (aka not gain so much weight!!!!!).  :)
