Christine, my new job doesn't quality for FMLA according to my employee manual. I assume they keep it just under 50 people that way it doesn't. I technically don't get leave I am allowed 6 weeks of maternity time and I have to use my PTO/sick ours to cover for it. I did get STD last year when I took out stuff. That way I don't have to use all my PTO.

How are you feeling emotionally? it still feels surreal...  Im sure it will feel more "real" once the morning sickness starts!

What's on your to-do list to get ready for baby this month? hcg blood test! lol

Do you know the gender yet? If not, are you thinking pink or blue? no iea

Any exciting plans for New Years Eve/Day? we stayed home and watched dvds and relaxed!

What would you like to accomplish this year? (in addition to having the baby, lol!) learn how to drive!!! theres no way in heck Im having a year maternity leave not knowing how to drive!

Hi ladies!  Forgot to mention how I told DH.  I found out I was pg a day or two before New Year's eve.  DH and I always go out for NYE together and have a date.  Well, I thought maybe this time I'd tell him I was pg in a creative way instead of just yelling from the bathroom like last time!  So I called the restaurant we were going to and asked them to write something on the dessert plate letting him know the news.  When the dessert came, spelled in chocolate was "Congratulations Daddy" on the plate.  He was shocked but excited!!  It was a lot of fun and I was glad I didn't have to keep it to myself anymore.  :)

Cassie - Do you qualify for FMLA? And for the party, what about making the time from 2-4pm or 3-5pm? That way you're not on the hook for dinner. Or just order some pizzas and keep things simple. Mary - Yes, please tell us how your DH reacted to the big news!! I hope you continue to feel well. I felt great weeks 4 and 5 and then felt like crap weeks 6-13. I can pass along a few suggestions if you do end up having to deal with nausea. ;-) Suzie - Just one more week until your scan! How exciting!! What a cute bump you have! I didn't get the flu shot so I'm no help in that area, sorry! Erica & Kate - Thanks for the sleeping advice! AFM - I *think* I've finally turned the corner on nausea. Been almost a week now. I still get a little nauseous in the morning but then I'm pretty much good to go the rest of the day. Waking up a couple of times a night to pee though and my boobs always feel super huge and sore when I get up. This week I've felt what I thought were flutters but not sure if it was just my digestive system, lol. I'm definitely showing now and it feels good to be "out" at work so I can wear maternity tops confidently. My appetite is still not what it used to be but I am more hungry now that the nausea has passed for the most part. I wanted to ask those of you BTDTs if you would mind jumping in at the baby chat as well. I setup the thread over a week ago and still no one has posted. I didn't want to not create one and alienate those that are still interested in posting but it makes me sad to see zero activity over there. Thanks ladies!

I second the Arms Reach Co-Sleeper.  Love that thing.  If you are really tight on space I think they make a "mini".

Hi everyone!  Glad to see some activity the last day or two.  The new format on ivillage has really slowed down conversation.  When I was preggo with my DS, I could hardly keep up with the chatter!

Jessica - Thanks for the congrats!  I just found out about the pregnancy about 10 days ago so I'm pretty new to baby #2.  I hope you'll come back and say hello sometimes.  :)

Suzie - You look too cute!  I looked like a beached whale by 19 weeks with DS, so I'm jealous.  Do you think you popped sooner this time?  I hear everyone say that you show quicker after the first pregnancy.  Good luck with your ultrasound!  Can't wait to hear about the gender.

Waiving hi to everyone else!

AFM - I know I'm asking for it by saying this, but I'm not really experiencing much in the way of symptoms right now.  BBs are sore and I'm a little more tired than usual, but no MS and nothing extreme like I started experiencing with DS at 4 weeks until 16 weeks.  I keep taking HPTs because I can't believe I'm pregnant just from the way I feel.  I hope that doesn't mean anything bad.  :(   I still have until 1/29 to see my doc for the first time and do the first ultrasound.  I'm ready to know that everything is okay with the little one.
