Just wanted to update. I had my first appt this morning and all sounds good After a hard time finding baby's HB (which was one surprise since it was the same with William) it was beating away- no count BPM count though. I am just waiting for a call to schedule the 1st tri screening and u/s thats checks markers for trisomy 18, downs and spina bifida. I am really doing this screening over the blood screening to see baby before the big 18 wk

Ruthie,

Very cool pics! Baby boy looks nice and snug in there. :-)

Just curious, what kind of film project is your DH working on? I love foreign films, especially documentaries. :-)

Jenny- You look great!
Elyse- I'm glad the appt went well!
Ruthie- I did the hypnobabies home course and loved it! I would highly recommend it, and will be doing it again with this baby. I don't feel like DH and I really needed to do a course. Honestly if he looks at a book and has a bit of an idea of what to expect and is normally a caring comforting person then you will be fine:)

AFM: I'm thinking about switching doctors. Mine is super nice and I can walk there but the wait times for my firs two appts have been over an hour and I have better stuff to do with my time. I'm thinking for my 9-12 week ultrasound that I am going to try another one which is also only about 10 minutes away and see if I like them better. I'm looking forward to hitting the 11-12th week and getting rid of this nausea!!!!!
We're also planning some trips for close to the due date and I am just hoping that magically I do not get as big as last time. Please no 10 pound baby, please, please!!! :D

LOL Ash, I'm sooo curious how big this baby will be! Bo was only 3.5oz bigger than Teddy though, if that's any consolation. And apparently that's the average by which a second baby is bigger than the first (3-4oz) but of course in real life, it varies wildly!

Ruth- I did a course last time with DH and it wasn't useful at all... Once labor really started I found all the breathing techniques useless, and DH and I went back to basic instinct. So I would try a home study, I think if the book is good it will always be better than the "average" class. Ash- my sister was #2 and she was almost 2 pounds lighter than me!! So there is some hope! LOL!

Ruthie- DH and I never took birthing classes, nor did we really do a homestudy. I figured I'd seen enough birth shows to know what do plus the nurses/doctors are there to guide you along. Plus, I could not justify the amount of money or loss of income by having to take time from work (including Sat) to go. All turned out just fine.
